Our morning assemblies are always moments of reflection, learning and sharing with our school community.

Although our current cohort of learners may not be as well-versed in song and singing, we certainly never run short of those who are willing to share the Word of God and meaningful moral lessons with our learners.

Every morning brings a different voice, a different lesson and an opportunity to inspire our learners to Arise and Shine.

A heartfelt thank you to our spiritual friend, Rev. Khuzwayo (uBaba uma-Daffodils as he’s affectionately known), for gracing us with his presence and sharing words of faith and encouragement with our learners.

Our Grade 12 learners are hard at work as they prepare for their Consumer Studies and Business Studies Preliminary Examinations.

The picture captures more than just a study session, it shows teamwork, commitment, peer learning and a shared determination to succeed. Our learners are engaging with one another, sharing ideas, revising key concepts and supporting each other as they strengthen their understanding.

As they prepare for the preliminary examinations, we encourage our Grade 12s to stay focused, manage their time wisely, ask questions, support one another and give every study session their best effort.

The journey to success is built one lesson, one revision session and one determined effort at a time.

Last Thursday, 20 August, two of our Grade 9 girls, Nana Gasa and Unamandla Shezi had the exciting opportunity to visit Gagasi FM for a job-shadowing experience.

The programme was organised by Ndabeni Dignified Funerals in partnership with Gagasi FM, giving our learners valuable exposure to the world of broadcasting and media.

Upon arrival at the station, they were warmly welcomed by the News Specialist, as they will be spending their time in the News and Sport Department, learning more about the different roles and responsibilities within the industry.

We are grateful for opportunities that allow our learners to explore careers, gain real-world experience and begin connecting their classroom learning to the world of work.

Our Grade 11 Accounting girls, accompanied by Mrs Ndlovu, had the privilege of attending the Women Business Breakfast hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN), Westville Campus on Friday, 21 August 2026.

Held under the theme “Imbokodo: Women in Local Economic Development,” the event provided an inspiring platform for young women to engage with accomplished female leaders and entrepreneurs in business and economic development.

The programme featured inspiring speakers, including Ms Bongiwe Nyawo, Ms Judy Stuart, Ms Lana Meyer, and Ms Seshnee Govender, who shared valuable insights from their experiences in entrepreneurship, agriculture, finance and leadership.

It was an enriching experience that encouraged our learners to dream boldly, pursue opportunities and see themselves as future leaders in the economy.

We are grateful to UKZN for creating opportunities that connect our learners with inspiring women who are making a difference.

On Monday, our Grade 12 History learners visited the History Museum in Pietermaritzburg to deepen their understanding of history through a meaningful educational experience.

The visit gave learners an opportunity to engage with historical artefacts, explore our past and connect classroom knowledge with real historical experiences.

We believe that learning is not confined to the classroom. Experiences such as these inspire curiosity, broaden perspectives and make learning more meaningful.

As they approach the end of their high school journey, the excursion also provided a valuable opportunity for learners to connect with one another beyond the classroom walls, create lasting memories and reflect on the journey they have shared.
