WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE THEY? 🌍
SAMANTHA KIM THOMPSON (née Harvey)
Class of 2003 - Prefect
House : Apollo 💛
‘After leaving school, I packed my bags for the UK and had an incredible time working and travelling, exploring places I had only dreamed of in the UK and Europe!
Upon my return, I followed my passion and completed a degree in Fashion Design in Durban, which kicked off an amazing career in the clothing industry. I started working in local manufacturing as a merchandise supplier to Mr Price & Foschini. After a few years I moved to a company that opened me up to a different experience specialising in imports as a supplier to Truworths. Both of these jobs offered me further travel opportunities, including America, Europe, Mauritius and China, to name just a few. With the work experience I had gained, I soon became a buyer for Mr Price Sport, a career I enjoyed immensely.
Along the way, I also married my high school sweetheart and the love of my life, Seth Thompson. Life only became sweeter when we welcomed our first son in 2017, followed by our second son two years later.
These days, I have the absolute privilege of being a stay-at-home mum to our two wonderful boys. Having travelled far and wide, we chose to settle closer to family and friends in the Ballito area. We love being able to live an active outdoor lifestyle and still enjoy a slower paced and quiet family life.
I have the pleasure of spending my time painting, sewing and consulting, keeping that creative spark alive.
Thinking back, I have very fond memories of school. I was a founding member of Grade 6 and it was a privilege to watch the School grow over 7 years there. Felixton College was a chapter filled with lifelong friendships, a variety of sport, charity work and vibrant cultural experiences. I always felt supported by ALL of the staff to strive to my full potential - Thank you! (Especially to my favourite teacher - Mrs Myburgh!)
Wishing Felixton College continued success and growth.
OFA - Samantha, thank you for sharing your story with us. We will never forget the vision of you descending the staircase at your Matric Dance at Canefields, every part a princess. Some of the younger children thought you were Barbie. You looked gorgeous! See photos below ⬇️
Class of 2003, if you spot yourself in one of the pics, please say ‘hi’ to Samantha ❤️
