It is with deep sadness that 𝗨𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 has learnt of the passing of 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗼𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘇𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁, a distinguished alumnus, former educator, School Governing Body member, and esteemed academic.

Professor Bezuidenhout matriculated from Uitenhage High School in 𝟭𝟵𝟳𝟴 before returning to his alma mater to serve as an educator from 𝟭𝟵𝟴𝟮 𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟵𝟵𝟵. During his years at the school, he made a lasting contribution to the education and development of countless young people through his dedication, professionalism, and passion for teaching. He also served as a valued member of the School Governing Body, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the growth and continued success of the school.

Following his time at Uitenhage High School, Professor Bezuidenhout continued to make a significant impact in higher education. He was widely respected for his commitment to academic excellence and his dedicated service to the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at North-West University, where he served in various leadership roles and left a lasting legacy.

On behalf of our School Governing Body, management, staff, learners, alumni, and the entire Uitenhage High School community, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Professor Bezuidenhout's family, friends, former colleagues, students, and all whose lives he touched.

His contribution to education, to our school community, and to the advancement of knowledge will be remembered with gratitude and respect.

May he rest in eternal peace.

We would like to sincerely thank Mr Zepplin Adams, an alumnus, who served as our motivational speaker at last night’s Grade 12 parent meeting. His message was both powerful and inspiring.

In his address, he spoke about the 𝟴𝟬/𝟮𝟬 𝗿𝘂𝗹𝗲 (𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗼 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲), which suggests that roughly 80% of results come from 20% of efforts. By focusing on the 20% that truly matters, learners can significantly improve their outcomes. He encouraged learners to eliminate distractions such as late-night chats with friends and unproductive activities, and instead commit to their academic responsibilities by attending support sessions and completing homework consistently.

He also emphasised the importance of having a clear vision and setting meaningful goals, reminding learners that direction is key to success.
