Die Hoërskool Ben Vorster se o.15-krieketspan het Maandag, 10 Augustus, in ’n ligawedstryd teen Hoërskool Piet Potgieter gewys waartoe die Vossies in staat is!

Die Red Caps het eerste gekolf en ’n indrukwekkende 445/8 in hul 50 boulb***te aangeteken.

SD Viljoen het ’n briljante vertoning gelewer en ’n ongelooflike 221 lopies van slegs 120 b***e aangeteken! Hy het 34 grenshoue geslaan – 22 viere en 12 sesse – in ’n besonderse kolfb***t.

Met dié prestasie is SD slegs die derde Vossie krieketspeler wat ’n dubbele honderdtal aangeteken het.

Voorwaar ’n uitsonderlike prestasie!

SD is goed ondersteun deur:
Hayden Opperman – 66 lopies
Weirich Vorster – 34 lopies

Ná middagete was dit Piet Potgieter se b***t om te kolf, maar die Vossies se boulers het korte mette met hulle gemaak. Die span is almal uitgeknikker vir slegs 50 lopies in 17 boulb***te!

Willem Lombard het skitterend geboul en vier paaltjies vir slegs twee lopies geneem – ’n ongelooflike boulprestasie!

Hy is goed ondersteun deur:

Jabulile Chabalala – twee paaltjies vir 24 lopies

Die Vossies het die wedstryd oortuigend met ’n reuse 395 lopies gewen!

VOSSIES U/15 CRICKET SHINE AGAINST PIET POTGIETER!

Hoërskool Ben Vorster's u/15 cricket team showed exactly what the Vossies were able of when they faced Hoërskool Piet Potgieter in a league match on Monday, 10 August.

The Red Caps batted first and posted an impressive 445/8 in their 50 overs.

SD Viljoen delivered a brilliant performance, scoring an incredible 221 runs off just 120 balls! He hit 34 boundaries - 22 fours and 12 sixes - in a truly outstanding innings.

With this performance, SD became only the third Vossie cricket player to score a double century.

What an exceptional achievement!

SD was well supported by:
Hayden Opperman - 66 runs
Weirich Vorster - 34 runs

After the lunch break, it was Piet Potgieter's turn to bat, but the Vossies' bowlers made short work of their opponents. Piet Potgieter were bowled out for just 50 runs in 17 overs.

Willem Lombard bowled brilliantly, taking four wickets for just two runs - an incredible bowling performance.

He was well supported by:
Hayden Opperman - 3 wickets for 12 runs
Jabulile Chabalala - 2 wickets for 24 runs

The Vossies won the match convincingly by a massive 395 runs.

EERSTE SPAN LEWER STERK BOULPRESTASIE TEEN PHS!

Die Hoërskool Ben Vorster se eerste krieketspan het Maandag, 10 Augustus, teen PHS kragte gemeet.

PHS het eerste gekolf en 228 lopies almal uit aangeteken in 41 boulb***te.

Mpontsheng Mashalane het skitterend geboul en ’n uitstekende ses paaltjies vir 45 lopies in nege boulb***te geneem - ’n besonderse boulprestasie!

Ná middagete het die Black Caps die kolfwerk aangepak, maar kon nie die teiken bereik nie. Die Vossies is in die 26ste boulb***t vir 118 lopies uitgeknikker en verloor die wedstryd met 110 lopies.

Talent Ndlovu was die beste kolwer met 64 lopies, terwyl Jayden Coetsee 23 lopies bygedra het.

Hoewel die uitslag nie in die Vossies se guns was nie, was daar sterk individuele vertonings. Ons is trots op julle, Black Caps!

FIRST TEAM DELIVERS A STRONG BOWLING PERFORMANCE AGAINST PHS

Hoërskool Ben Vorster’s first cricket team faced PHS on Monday, 10 August.

PHS batted first and scored 228 runs all out in 41 overs. Mpontsheng Mashalane bowled exceptionally well, taking an outstanding six wickets for 45 runs in nine overs – a remarkable bowling performance!

After lunch, the Black Caps took to the crease but were unable to reach the target. The Vossies were bowled out for 118 runs in the 26th over, losing the match by 110 runs.

Talent Ndlovu was the top batsman with 64 runs, while Jayden Coetsee contributed 23 runs.

Although the result did not go in the Vossies’ favour, there were some strong individual performances. We are proud of you, Black Caps!

With great pride, we inaugurated the new Student Council (SC) members during a very special event. The new Chairpersons of the school, as well as the Chairpersons of Vyfster Boys' Hostel and Toekie Vorster Ladies' Hostel, were also announced.
