Caring for our carers 💙

Ithemba Foundation

Caring for our carers – today we wore funky, mismatched socks!

We consult them often – GPs, specialists, dentists, psychologists and other healthcare workers.

Now it’s time to show them our support and draw attention to the mental health needs of healthcare workers.

Post a photo of your funky socks along with and tag Ithemba Foundation (and us, if you want) 😉. You can also share your pic in the comments.

Support our healthcare workers: Say it with socks!

Today, 3 June 2022, is Day 🧦 in support of mental health awareness amongst our healthcare workers.
This day is to create awareness around the importance of the mental health needs for our and fellow healthcare workers. All levels of healthcare (nurses doctors, Biokineticists, Physiotherapists, Dietitians, Psychologists, reception etc,) practitioners in public and private practice, need support in normalizing the conversation around mental health.

Ithemba Foundation
Mental health matters. Let’s all try keeping sane while helping and changing lives , doing what we love.

“Non-profit organization Ithemba Foundation and pharmaceutical company Cipla have partnered again for the 2022 Crazy Socks for Docs (CS4D) campaign, supported by the South African Medical Association (SAMA). The campaign sheds light on the need for mental health awareness and care in the medical industry.”
Thank you Cipla South Africa for GROOTfm 90.5’s crazy socks!

The Kemp & Associates team were proud supporters of the initiative led by the Ithemba Foundation on Friday, 04 June 2021 by rocking their crazy socks in support of mental health awareness and the impact of Covid-19 on our health care workers.

Gesondheidswerkers is onder meer druk as ooit tevore, wat vandag se Sokkies vir Dokkies-dag (Crazy Socks for Docs) belangriker as ooit maak.

"CrazySocks4Docs Day, or for short, is a day on which awareness is raised of the mental health needs of all our healthcare workers. Especially under Covid-19, their already crisis-level needs have given rise to another pandemic – mental health – and it is happening in a sector that needs to care for us, the public. What can we do to show our support and turn awareness into action? That’s easy – wear a pair of the most mismatched socks you can find in your cupboard to show you care!" - skryf Lizette Rabe

Praat gerus met Erna – of stuur vir haar ’n whatsapp by 082-771-4654 as jy wil bestel. Bestel sommer vir jou hele gesin elkeen een, of jou werkers, of vriende, of...

Liefde-liefde
Dana

PS! Deel asseblief plasing met soveel mense as moontlik. Ithemba is ook betrokke by verskeie navorsingsprojekte oor depressie.
DANKIE ELIZABETH

Hundreds of pairs of socks were dished out to medical students last week during the campus launch of the ( ) awareness campaign that seeks to help break the silence around mental-health illness in the medical profession.

More than 600 medical students from the University of the Free State (UFS) School of Internal Medicine heeded the call by the non-governmental organisation, Ithemba Foundation, whose mission is to educate the public around mental health – specifically depression and related diseases such as anxiety disorders – and to support research.

On Monday, 3 June 2019, the Ithemba Foundation launched the CS4D campaign countrywide at all tertiary institutions with medical schools to help break the silence around mental health in the medical profession.
