It's not the teachers nor the principal but the schooling system that refuses to evolve with time. I strongly don't think we need to teach kids to be rich but skills,from grade 1-9 it's all good and well to teach Maths, English etc but high schools grade 10-12 should be turned into skills development centers, entrepreneurship, beauty, building, plumbing etc in a township with 40 high schools atleast they can offer 20 different skills types.

Enough choosing subjects now in grade 9 we need to choose skills, leave some schools for those high academic achievers who like them.

The 2020 academic year will only end early next year due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande briefed the media earlier on his department's readiness for students' phased-in learning.

Nzimande has urged students and parents to listen to COVID-19 directives from institutions.

Tertiary institutions are adopting a phased-in approach that will allow students back to the classroom.

SCHOOL CALENDAR 2020: GRADE R TO GRADE 11
As per the amended school calendar, students will be returning to the classroom on 24 August 2020, with 163 school days remaining in 2020 for teachers, and 156 days for learners. Grade R to Grade 11 will complete the school year on 15 December 2020.

The department also explained that a “break in school will be needed to separate the third and fourth terms”. Therefore, schools will close for a one-week break between 26 and 30 October 2020, before resuming with the fourth term.

In addition, Grade 12 exams must be completed by 15 December 2020. Teachers and staff will have until 22 January 2021 to complete marking in order for the examination results to be released by 23 February 2021.

Therefore, the 2020 academic year won’t roll over into 2021. The new academic year will commence on 25 January 2021 for teachers, followed by students a few days later.
