| LIMPOPO PROVINCIAL ENGAGEMENT PROGRAMME

The University of Venda’s Department of Early Childhood Education together with our esteemed international partners from University College Leuven-Limburg (UCLL), proudly participated in the Limpopo Provincial Engagement Programme hosted by the Limpopo Department of Education in Polokwane.

The engagement brought together education stakeholders, policymakers, researchers, academics, teacher unions, and development partners to deliberate on evidence-based strategies aimed at strengthening educational outcomes and advancing quality teaching and learning across the province. The programme provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, collaborative dialogue, and the sharing of innovative approaches to addressing challenges within the education sector.

The participation of UCLL representatives further reinforced the importance of international partnerships in higher education, fostering global perspectives and collaborative solutions that contribute to the development of responsive and inclusive education systems.

Through engagements of this nature, the University of Venda continues to strengthen its commitment to academic excellence, research-informed practice, community engagement, and international collaboration in support of transformative education for sustainable development.

🕊️ 𝐌𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

The University of Venda joins the Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University community in mourning the passing of Professor Tandi Matsha-Erasmus, Vice-Chancellor and Principal of SMU.

Professor Matsha-Erasmus was a distinguished scholar, visionary leader, and dedicated servant of higher education whose contribution to academic excellence, research, and institutional transformation will be remembered for generations.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, friends, colleagues, students, and the entire SMU community during this difficult time.

May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire future generations.
