Dear Master- Quest -Tutors clients/potential clients.
Let me start of by saying that I'm so very grateful to be doing this for almost 20 years.
I'm also extremely grateful to my current and past clients- it's an even greater honour to be able to educate children of past students .ππ
As per my quote you need to confirm acceptance of schedule and cost on the same day the quote is sent. If you don't - those slots will be given to the next person on the waiting list.
If you make payment and those slots are not available - I always recommend you do a reversal via your bank. It avoids any issues retrieving your money and puts you in charge of the situation.
I have had a few "clients" that ask for quotes, go radio silent, a week or two later they request another quote and do the same thing.
Then out of the blue after complete radio silence, a payment is made and they demand their slots - Only to threaten me and my business when I let them know those slots are no longer available and that they must do a reversal of payment via their bank.
Please note I will not be bullied!
I'm a self employed person and I take what I do seriously.
It's an honour and a privilege to be able to follow my calling.
I have earned my degree and upkeep my studies.
I charge fairly for my time.
I'm a service provider not your slave and definitely not your play thing or the fall guy!
It's not okay to make false accusations especially when you are at fault.
Please treat others as you would wish people treat your children π
Sending lots of love and positive energy out into the world.
May today find you in a better headspace.
May today provide you with joy and hope.
May you accomplish those little tasks to help you reach those huge goals.
May you find at least one true person to reach out to, lean on, and celebrate with.
May you feel worthy, loved, appreciated and valuedππ₯°π
Oh I love watching how my students grow and change. I especially love that moment where everything starts to fall into place. The moment where it starts to make sense to them and they discover the magic of learning and unlock their potential.
Educators know the signsπ₯°
Our students sit more upright - their slouching days gone. There's a lightness in the way they behave, talk, interact, walk- they are no longer burdened by doubts. They even smile in class and make a few funny remarks. They are no longer afraid to try.
Oh I love and treasure those moments π₯°ππ
It feeds my soul and ensures me that I'm on the right path, doing something that matters. Master- Quest -Tutors
Parents often sit on the outside and judge the easy job we have as educators....little do they know and understand our daily struggles.
Most classrooms - there are 30 plus students....to one educator....with a myriad of tasks we are mandated to do, countless interruptions...30 minutes to do it, lack of support and inadequate work spaces with a great lack of tools...(which we often supply ourselves), on top of trying to reach each child so that they see the beauty in learning. Teaching is a calling that requires us to play a myriad of roles, to use our multitude of skills, to be able to communicate, collaborate, comfort, guide, motivate, counsel, and interact with all our students, whilst trying to open their minds to new ideas and teaching them to understand and apply the new knowledge. I must not forget the endless mandated and unnecessary paperwork and the unfair assessments and criteria we need to meet set by people who have no idea what it is to be an educator.
Teaching is like a one man circus really... The educator must simultaneously keep in time with the music, walk a tightrope whilst juggling plates, cups, balls and swords, skip a rope, jump through fire hoops, do trapeze acts, take down notes, and evaluate, whilst ensuring our viewers are safe, entertained, and are able to learn all the tricks. Ah but those smiles of wonder, and those faces when they discover or solve something....so precious - are every educator's reward and motivation π₯°ππ Master- Quest -Tutors
The amazing thing about my Master Quest journey is that I go from teaching fundamentals to grade R-4 students, to building good foundations with my Gr 5 to 8 students, to upping study techniques and skills with my Gr 9--12 students in the afternoons. My mornings are a mix of home schoolers and university students....
Take for instance today's roster is Adult students for a Project management workshop, followed by my junior sessions and finishing off with reviewing third term exams with my senior students.
No day is the same - I get to dabble with different subjects, grades, students of all ages, different learning styles and needs, different expected outcomes and a myriad of information ....I'm loving every moment and thankful for every opportunity. My goal will always be to help students believe in themselves, boost their self-confidence and help them find the magic and aha moments in learning π Master- Quest -Tutors
Master Quest Moments:
There are two major things which I feel should be eradicated from the educational system:
That being homework and standardized tests.
But to do that the entire educational institution system needs to be reworked.
Curriculums need to be reevaluated.
Work load for both educators and students needs to be reduced.
Assessments should be done by giving students projects and assignments to do using all tools, techniques, and tricks they have been exposed to within a realistic timeframe.
Because let's face it:
Exams don't test the students ability to apply knowledge and problem solve, but rather their ability to memorise and regurgitate.
Homework is given because realistically speaking the curriculum is too chunky and does not fit into the proposed timeframe of a schol year - leaving gaps and requiring students to cover some of the work after school.
There is just too much admin and red tape involved in the educational system.
Education should be about exposing children to the wonders of the world so that they may understand the world around them - thus creating a caring outlook for the environment and the people around them. It should create people with the knowledge, thinking abilities and desire to build, restore, improve and maintain the world around them so that life can thrive and live in harmony with nature for a sustainable way of life.

Instead we are creating workers with very little free thought, limited knowledge, unnecessary tools and information - trained to live a life built around working and creating profits.
I long for the day policy makers, the puppet masters and the higher ups see the errors of their ways and change the way things are done for the benefit off all not just a few.
Random thoughts of an edurite π₯°
Started reading a book last week and for some reason or other I just couldn't get into it, so I moved onto another book. Decided to tap into that forgotten book last night and all of a sudden it's turned into a book I'm fully captured by.
That's just like a lot of stuff in life....sometimes we need to take a break from it - regroup - have a change of mindset - and then that dam we were once drowning in turns out to be an ocean full of intriguing mysteries and moments of utter joy and wonderment.
Maths too is like that ..... We'll be solving problems left right and centre and then we are met with that one question that makes us question everything about ourselves: our abilities, our lack of comprehension, our lack of brain function, and so much more that we turn our backs not on the topic but maths itself and ourselves as a whole.
But take that break, immerse yourself in more practice questions and once the solution rate increases so will your self-confidence and self belief. Next thing you know - the solution that evaded you comes spewing out at a speed your pen can't keep with.
Basically don't give up, don't walk away, don't burn the book - just take a break and when you've found a change of heart try again. Might take a few tries but that moment of clarity is worth the swim and deep dive.π

Here's why I do what I do the way I do it. Not just because my students marks improve in leaps and bounds when they apply what they are taught. Nope! Here's some of my reasons for running Master- Quest -Tutors
My students find their voice. Their self confidence and self belief grows stronger session after session. My students learn to think out of the box, to think for themselves, to ask the right questions, and how to research to find the best possible solutions. My students learn awesome study and learning methods that suit their personal style. My students receive resources and tools that encourage active learning instead of passive rote learning thus improving memory retention and retrieval. Their outlook towards school, and life in general improves. My students take learning and turn it into a way to uncover and unleash their potential and superpowers. Master Quest Tutors
May this rainy day shower you with blessings, positive energy, healing light, a calm sense of being, an awakened mind, a healthy abled body, a connection with earth, a strong bond with loved ones, and a feeling of contentment πππ Master- Quest -Tutors
