Not every leadership lesson comes from a success.

Some come from the mistakes we would rather forget.

Early in my leadership journey, I learnt a particularly powerful lesson about gossip, trust and the danger of believing what you hear before seeking the truth.

It changed the way I lead, communicate and handle difficult conversations to this day.

Because sometimes leadership means having the courage to speak.

And sometimes, it means having the courage not to listen.

It starts with trusting your voice when doubt gets loud.
Having the courage to step forward when it would be easier to stay invisible.
Believing that you belong in the room, and allowing yourself to be seen, heard and recognised.

You don’t need a title to be a leader. Leadership begins with how you show up for yourself.

To every woman building, leading, learning, speaking up, starting again and becoming more confident in who she is, keep going.

Lead yourself first. The rest will follow.
