ASRSA is a non-confessional academic association, promoting interdisciplinary and critical research on religion in Southern Africa and the Global South.

We also host the bi-annual, open-access, scholarly journal; Journal for the Study of Religion (JSR)! The Association for the Study of Religion in Southern Africa (ASRSA) is an international scholarly association that seeks to advance the study of religion. ASRSA encourages and communicates research that ranges widely across the multiple themes and approaches in the study of religion, and is a focal point for comparative, historical and theoretical contributions to the field.
