A quiet sense of pride and promise as we tied our Grade 7s on the 24th of April 2026, a symbolic occasion marking growth, responsibility and commitment to academic excellence. For many of our learners, the event represented more than simply receiving a school tie. It marked the beginning of a journey that calls for discipline, confidence and purpose.
The heart of the ceremony was found in the quiet, emotional moments shared between parents and their children. A simple uniform tradition became a blessing as parents stepped forward to personally tie the knots for their children. Words of encouragement were whispered, prayers were spoken, and families symbolically entrusted their children to the journey ahead, binding them to their academic goals and encouraging them to walk with integrity as they enter this important final chapter of primary school.
This message of purpose and legacy was echoed by parent representative Miss Z Hulana, who encouraged families and learners alike to view education as an investment not only in personal success, but in the future of the community itself.
The ceremony was made even more meaningful by the presence of principals from neighbouring primary schools who joined us in support of our learners and the shared vision of educational growth within our rural community. Mr Matiwane delivered a memorable message on the meaning behind the tie, reminding learners that it is not merely part of a uniform, but a symbol of hard work, resilience and the standards they are expected to uphold.
Learners were equally inspired by the words of Mr Krakra, a proud son of uMgwali village and a Bachelor of Education graduate, whose journey continues to reflect determination and the pursuit of rural excellence. His presence served as a reminder that great potential can rise from humble beginnings and that success is often shaped by perseverance, vision and self-belief.
Messages from the School Management Team and the SGB Chairperson reminded learners that the tie they now wear carries the values of discipline, responsibility and perseverance, qualities that will guide them both inside and beyond the classroom.
We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of the day. Your support, encouragement and presence helped make the occasion both memorable and meaningful.
