(Al Marhoom) Professor Abdul Salaam Karaan. One of the founding members of Darut Tahfiz, always carried the Quran in his heart. His selfless contributions towards his community will forever be remembered.

Here is one of the few questions that were posed to him.
Q:Despite your hectic schedule, you are also currently involved in the establishment and running of hifz schools for both boys and girls. Can you please elaborate, especially on the assistance given to the further careers of your hifz students.
A: I have two career ambitions. To farm and to teach hifth. Hifth is the bigger ambition. I support a madressah as
far as possible and remain involved in the examination of the hifth students. I hope to do more Insha-Allah.
I am fond of recruiting young huffaath to perform taraweegh with me in Ramadan and in the Layl salaah in the latpter nights of Ramadan. On the encouragement
of Sheikh Abadi we started a Gatamal Quran Jamaat in our community to which I dedicate one night per week diligently. Hifth is the greatest blessing one
could receive and our constant strive is to be of those who learn and then teach Quran. We must however popularise the regular reading of Quran amongst
households, family and friends. In this practice lies the contentment of the heart.
