One of those experiences is the 50m Chamber Dive.

For a future dive professional, it’s an opportunity to experience the effects of extreme pressure in a controlled environment — helping turn classroom theory into something you can actually understand and experience.

At depth, you begin to appreciate:
• The effects of pressure on the body
• Gas density and breathing at depth
• Nitrogen narcosis
• The importance of depth management
• Why dive planning and procedures matter
• The responsibility that comes with leading other divers

“Over my nine months at the Academy, I progressed from Open Water through to Divemaster training — but the biggest thing that stood out was everything I learned beyond simply being a diver.

The Academy gave me an insight into the parts of the diving industry that a normal client doesn’t necessarily see.

I learned about product knowledge, servicing equipment, dealing with problems when things don’t go according to plan, retail, dive centre operations and professional training.

That broader experience made the Academy unique.

It gave me a much bigger understanding of the diving industry and what it takes to actually work within it — not just complete courses one by one.” 🌊
