Futuresmart Academy is a specialised school supporting learners with Autism. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Deputy Head of School to join our growing leadership team in 2027.

The Role

The Deputy Head of School will work closely with the Executive Head of the Edusmart Group to support the academic, operational and pastoral leadership of the school.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting and leading our teaching team
• Overseeing curriculum, assessment and learner progress
• Promoting differentiated, individualised and strengths-based teaching
• Supporting staff with classroom management and individual learner needs
• Working collaboratively with parents, therapists and other professionals
• Assisting with the day-to-day management of the school
• Mentoring and developing staff
• Contributing to the continued growth and development of Futuresmart Academy

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

✔ Has a relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Educational Psychology, Special Needs Education or a related field
✔ Has teaching and/or educational leadership experience
✔ Has experience working with neurodivergent learners and/or learners with barriers to learning
✔ Is a confident communicator and effective team leader
✔ Is organised, proactive and solution-focused
✔ Has a genuine commitment to strengths-based and neuro-affirming education
✔ Is passionate about creating an environment where every learner can thrive

Experience in a specialised, remedial, inclusive or neurodiverse school environment will be advantageous.
