Rhenish Girls’ High School has proudly supported the Santa Shoebox Project since 2014, bringing Christmas joy to children who might otherwise go without a gift.

Each shoebox contains essentials and treats: a face cloth, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, clothing, a toy and something educational.

We invite our Rhenish community, families, friends, colleagues and community groups to get involved. Boxes can be packed individually or as a group, with costs shared among contributors.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧: 𝗥𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗜𝗣𝗧

1st Team players Sarah-Ellen, Katherine and Chelsey represented the SA U18A Girls’ Hockey Team at the U21 Inter-Provincial Tournament in Gqeberha this past week. The team had an outstanding tournament, finishing 3rd overall and earning bronze medals. Adding to the achievement, Sarah-Ellen had the honour of captaining the team.

Pippa also represented Western Province U21 at the IPTs, where the team secured silver medals. She is pictured with her teammates and Rhenish Old Girls, Puck and Leah. Leah was also named the player of the tournament.

We are incredibly proud of all four of our Rhenishers, and Old Girls! 💙

𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘: 𝗦𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁

Our Music Department hosted a beautiful Senior Music Concert last night, where our Grade 10–12 Music learners captivated the audience with their exceptionally high standard of music.

While the concert forms part of the learners’ Practical Assessment Task (PAT) marks for the year, evenings like these are about far more than assessment. The focus shifts from marks to the joy of music-making.

Thank you to all our musicians for their dedication and outstanding performances, as well as to their teachers and accompanists who helped make the evening such a special occasion.

𝗥𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗙𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗔𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿

The Rhenish Cancer Society has partnered with Project Flamingo, a non-profit organisation dedicated to reducing waiting times for breast cancer surgery in South Africa.

Funds raised through various Rhenish Cancer Society initiatives will go towards supporting Project Flamingo and its important work in the fight against breast cancer. The first of these initiatives took place yesterday with a well-supported bake sale, and we are grateful to everyone who contributed.

We look forward to coming together as a school community to support this meaningful cause and help make a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. 💙🦩

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧: 𝗨𝟭𝟰𝗔 & 𝗨𝟭𝟲𝗔 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟭𝟮 𝗛𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝘆

Our U14A and U16A Hockey Teams both competed in their respective Top 12 Tournaments this past weekend, with the U16As travelling to Paarl and the U14As proudly hosting the tournament on home turf at Rhenish.

The U16As faced some strong opposition throughout the weekend and showed determination and team spirit in every match. Although the results did not always go their way, they never stopped competing and represented with pride.

The U14As enjoyed a solid tournament, playing five matches and finishing tenth overall after recording two wins, one draw and two losses.

𝗦𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧: 𝗥𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘄𝗶𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗽𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀

Congratulations to our talented swimmers who delivered outstanding performances at the Western Cape Short Course Championships.

𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗲 reached the finals in all seven of her individual events, earning a silver medal in the 100m Breaststroke, a bronze medal in the 200m Breaststroke, and two relay silver medals. She also achieved impressive personal best times across her events.

𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮 𝗦 qualified for the final of the 100m Butterfly and finished 8th overall.

𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝘆𝗹𝗮 𝗝 achieved 11 personal best times during the championships and secured SANJ qualifying times in the U13 age group.

𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗺 swam personal best times in all seven of her events and earned a silver medal as part of the 200m IM relay team. She also qualified for the South African National Junior Championships in the 100m Backstroke and the South African Short Course Championships in the 50m Backstroke.

𝗠𝗶𝗸𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗮 enjoyed a remarkable championship, earning six individual medals: two silver medals in the 800m and 1500m Freestyle, and four bronze medals in the 200m Freestyle, 400m Freestyle, 200m IM and 400m IM. She also recorded personal best times in six of her nine events.

𝗔𝗯𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗹 produced a dominant performance in the 16-and-over category, claiming gold in the 100m Freestyle and 100m Butterfly, silver in the 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke and 200m Butterfly, while also helping her relay teams secure gold in both the 4x50m Freestyle and 4x50m Medley relays.
