Workshops about disabilities with a personal touch I soon became a spokesperson for disabled students and that has guided me to starting talks/workshops.

Going to Stellenbosch University despite having Cerebral Palsy was a lifelong dream and this is where a passion for being involved in the disability field began. My involvement with disability affairs on campus as well as my determination to succeed got me noticed by the powers that be which led me to win the Rector’s Award for succeeding Against the Odds three years in a row. Being able to share my journey is always a privilege. Yesterday the meeting was about sport and I was able to share my journey with sport before hitting the gym for 90mins.

Toni came and spoke to a group of us about a week ago in Franschhoek and the session was really good. It was practical, in that a few people among us were made to experience for a few hours in a small way what not having sight, or mobility in certain means. Moreover, Toni is very engaging and interacted well with us as a classroom audience, challenging us to see life from the perspective of the disabled whilst at the same time humbly admitting that her experience as a disabled person does not represent the experiences of all people with disabilities. - Vilio, MTP student

On Tuesday I had the privilege of spending the afternoon with Shofar's Ministry Training Program students in Franschhoek speaking about the topic of disability in the church.

At the end of August I spent a few days at Rhenish High school speaking to Grad 10 learners about my story, teenage depression and su***de. It was truly a wonderful experience.
