Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion, in partnership with Reflekt Model Management, is excited to announce the launch of the Fashion Your Future 2026 Student Bursary Competition.

The competition invites young creatives to design and submit a wearable fashion piece, such as a garment, accessory, or wearable art piece.

Finalists will have their work showcased at the Garden Route Fashion & Creative Expo, with access to mentorship, industry exposure, and professional development.

The winning entrant will receive:

- A full first-year academic bursary (excluding registration, kit, and shop fees) at Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion, valid for 2027–2028

- A bursary for the Model & Fashion Industry Skills Programme at Reflekt Development Division

This past weekend EG traveled to the cold Karoo fothe annual Karoo Winter Wool Festival!

Our team of staff and students had the privilege of immersing ourselves in the incredible world of natural fibres. From a fascinating tour of Dwarsvlei Farm to insightful panel discussions and live demonstrations, the trip offered valuable learning and inspiration at every turn.

We also had the opportunity to experience the exceptional craftsmanship behind beautiful products made from South African mohair and merino wool, gaining a deeper appreciation for the journey from fibre to finished product.

A massive thank you to Cape Wools and the Karoo Winter Wool Festival for making this enriching experience possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with industry experts, learn from passionate producers and makers, and be inspired by the innovation and heritage of South Africa’s wool and mohair industries.
