Exploring New Opportunities!

We had a wonderful time at the Isa Carstens Open Day with some of our Nookoowai Academy students!
We loved exposing them to the different study and career opportunities available and giving them a chance to start thinking about what their future could look like.

🎤 Finding Their Voice & Facing Their Fears 🌟

Today our students stepped out of their comfort zones and took on their very own TED Talks!

Each student had the opportunity to speak about something they are passionate about — sharing their interests, ideas and knowledge with others.

But it wasn’t just about the talks. It was about confidence, courage and learning to stand in front of others and be heard. ❤️

🐎Our horses are so much more than just animals-they’re a special part of life at Nookoowai Academy.🌺

Many of our ponies are rescues with incredible stories of their own, and today they help our students build confidence, find calm, and feel supported. When a child feels overwhelmed or dysregulated, spending a few quiet moments with one of our gentle horses can make all the difference.

They teach kindness, patience, and resilience every day, and we couldn’t imagine our school without them.
Our students love them-and so do we.

🪴Getting Our Gardens Ready for Spring!🪏

Spring is just around the corner, and at Nookoowai Academy we're getting our hands dirty as we prepare our gardens for the new season!

Our learners are clearing beds, enriching the soil, and getting everything ready for planting. Gardening is a wonderful way to learn about nature, responsibility, patience, and the joy of watching something grow from the ground up.

😴 The Power of Sleep 😴

Our sleep workshop with the amazing Jurita Engelbrecht, Educational Psychologist, was truly an eye-opener for our students!

Learning about our circadian rhythm and the importance of quality sleep gave students valuable insights into how sleep affects their mood, focus, learning, and overall well-being.
