On Thursday, 19 February 2026, Prof. Yoshiaki Terumichi from Sophia University, delivered a lecture at SU’s Faculty of Engineering. The title of the lecture was: β€œModelling of Railway Vehicle Motion during Large Earthquake.” It was a fascinating lecture, introducing our students to innovations underlying the Shinkansen in Japan. πŸš„ πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

The SUJC was honoured to attend the MEXT Inter-University Exchange Project Kick-off Meeting at Sophia University in Tokyo. Here Prof. Miki Sugimura, President of Sophia University, is addressing the attendees. The name of the project is β€œThe Japan-Africa Nexus: Co-building a Sustainable Global Future Together.”

Applications now open β€” INU International Student Seminar 2026 🌏

The International Network of Universities (INU) invites students from member universities to participate in the International Student Seminar for Global Citizenship and Peace 2026, hosted by Hiroshima University (4–12 August 2026).

This year’s theme:
β€œUN SDGs and sustainable economic development.”

The 9-day programme brings together students from around the world for lectures, workshops, intercultural exchange, and a United Nations General Assembly role-play, while also marking the anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.

An opportunity to engage critically with global challenges, meet international peers, and experience Japan through academic and cultural exchange.
