𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗥𝗜𝗖 𝗗𝗔𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦 – 𝟮𝟮 𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Residents and motorists are advised that two matric dance events will take place in Stellenbosch on Tuesday, 22 September 2026, from 15:30 to 18:30.

The events are expected to result in increased traffic volumes and possible congestion in the surrounding areas.

📍 Paul Roos Gymnasium

The event will take place at Paul Roos High School.

All vehicles will enter from the direction of the Danie Craven Stadium towards Paul Roos High School.

A temporary road closure will be implemented at the intersection of Piet Retief Street and Suidwal Street.

Motorists can expect increased traffic volumes and possible congestion along:

Noordwal-West Street
Die Laan
Noordwal East Street
Coetzenburg Street
Van Riebeek Street

📍 Parel Vallei

The event will take place at the Stellenbosch Town Hall.

Vehicles will enter via Bird Street, turn left into Plein Street, left into Andringa Street and right into the Town Hall Service Road.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time and exercise caution when travelling in the affected areas.

The Municipality thanks residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation.

• All on-campus parking security booms will be lifted (as usual on Saturdays), allowing access to centrally located parking.
• Parking is available at the Faculty of Engineering, within walking distance of other faculties.
• Sporting events at Coetzenburg Sport Complex may impact traffic flow – please plan accordingly.
• For your safety, do not leave valuables visible in your vehicle.
• Please park only in designated areas to avoid fines.

TYGERBERG CAMPUS
• Enter via the main campus entrance.
• Ample parking is available near the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences’ Education Building, where most activities will take place.
