We are thrilled to announce the call for the annual ๐๐ก๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐จ๐ฉ๐ก๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐“๐ก๐ž๐จ๐ซ๐ฒ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐‡๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ž๐ซ ๐„๐๐ฎ๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐ž๐ญ๐ฒ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž (๐๐š๐“๐‡๐„๐’), taking place from 8-10 June 2027 at Stellenbosch University.

The conference promises to be a vibrant and engaging scholarly space with the theme, ๐‘๐ž-๐ข๐ฆ๐š๐ ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ฅ๐ž๐๐ ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐‚๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฒ.

This conference invites scholars, researchers, educators, students, and practitioners to engage critically with the philosophical, theoretical, ethical, political, and epistemological questions surrounding knowledge in higher education.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved colleague, Prof Melanie Moen, Chair of the Department of Educational Psychology.

Prof Moen was a deeply valued member of our community, a respected scholar, a dedicated leader in her department, and a warm colleague. Within the Department of Educational Psychology, she gave her all, leading with care and commitment, and she was a source of guidance and support to colleagues and students (undergraduate and postgraduate) alike. Across the Faculty and in the wider university, she was known and admired for her scholarship and, in particular, for her advocacy for social impact. She believed that our work as academics must uplift the most vulnerable in our society. She will be greatly missed.

Our hearts go out to her husband, children, family, colleagues and students who feel this loss most deeply. Please hold them in your thoughts and prayers.
