We are incredibly proud to announce that the Stellenbosch University Library Team won the IFLA 100 Logo Competition!

Our winning design was selected from more than 70 submissions, making this recognition an especially proud moment for our team and for Stellenbosch University. 🌍📚

And now, our winning design has officially been launched as part of IFLA’s centenary year — . IFLA - International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions

At the closing session of the World Library and Information Congress (WLIC ), IFLA officially opened its centenary year and unveiled the IFLA 100 logo designed by our team at Stellenbosch University, South Africa.

Under the theme 𝐁𝐞 𝐁𝐎𝐋𝐃: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, this year's Symposium brings together leading voices from Africa and around the world to explore how academic libraries are shaping the future of research, learning and scholarly communication.

Our Keynote Address will be delivered by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧, Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Cape Town, who will present on Scholarly Communication and the Future African Library.

Delegates will have the opportunity to hear from an outstanding line-up of international speakers, including 𝐈𝐅𝐋𝐀 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐥𝐢𝐞 𝐖𝐞𝐢𝐫, 𝐃𝐫 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐡 (San José State University), 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐊𝐚𝐰𝐨𝐨𝐲𝐚 (University of South Carolina) and 𝐊𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 (University of Wisconsin–Madison Libraries). The programme also features thought-provoking panel discussions centered on the Symposium sub-themes of 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭, creating opportunities for lively debate, shared learning and networking. The first panel discussion will be a discussion about the next chapter of academic libraries and the second panel discussion will focus more on leveraging emerging technologies to shape this next chapter. The Symposium will conclude with a panel discussion by colleagues from the University of Wisconsin–Madison Libraries on Digital Scholarship and the Future of Libraries.

Now a Digital Science User Conference, the meeting will remain a forum for the Figshare community to engage, share ideas and connect with peers.
