The competition was tough but I showed up and although I didn't win the top prize, I still feel like a winner, because reaching the top ten from 60 plus candidates is a remarkable achievement and a testament to my hard work and dedication. This experience has been incredibly rewarding, and I have learned so much about myself, my strengths, and my capabilities. I am confident that this is just the beginning of something great, and I am excited to see what the future holds.

We came first.

Before the pacing of hallways with colicky babies.

Before the little hands started grabbing ours to ask us to come play.

We came first.

Before the postpartum depression and anxiety.

Before fixing 3 littles’ plates at every meal and saying “please don’t lick that” to the most random things throughout the day.

We came first.

Before the adorable little onesies, superhero figures, and princess dresses.

Before the bassinets, Pack ‘N Plays, and bunk beds.

We came first.

Before the squeals and screams that interrupt our every conversation.

Before the little snuggles of our Littles between us in the middle of the night or first thing in the morning.

We came first.

And each day I’m reminded that we still need to make time for us.

It might look different right now.

It might be harder to figure out right now.

But we will.

Because we came first and will still be holding hands when our birdies fly from our little nest.

Had To Share!!!!

After having a child, I realized that in the eyes of society mothers can't:

- Complain (who told you to have kids?)
- Cry (why are you crying? (Did you think it was easy?)
- Getting tired of what? (you do nothing!)
- Sleep (You're lazy!)
- Rest (you'll have plenty of time for that after they grow up)
- Getting pregnant again (are you crazy? How many more kids do you want?)
- Quitting work (how will you support your child?)
- Work (who will take care of the child?)
- Leave them at the nursery (Don’t let others raise them!!)
- Being a housewife (Poor husband, who works too hard and his wife stays at home!)
- Being single (nobody wants a woman with kids)
- Going out for fun (why are you leaving your son with grandma to have fun?)
And you know what's worse???
90% of these phrases are spoken by other women.

Let's learn to be more supportive of each other. I'm human and I love my kids but I'm guilty of all these emotions at some point.
