PLG Springs Academy

PLG Springs Academy An affordable, quality, private education group with a vision to make private learning more accessible. From Pre-Primary to High School We prepare them for life.

Pre-Primary and Primary School

Children build the rest of their lives around the foundations developed in early childhood. Each child is unique, with his individuality being recognised and nurtured at our early learning centre. Springs Academy Primary School focuses on building character and a strong academic foundation while also encouraging independent thinking. The supportive teachers help each learner cultivate a love of learning and develop confidence in their abilities. About Us:

Springs Academy is devoted to ensuring the best possible learning environment for your children, as we do more than educate our learners. Through our more than capable teachers, who are hand-picked with excellent academic and sporting facilities, we will enhance the holistic development of your child. This includes refinement and development of communication skills, self-discipline and respect for themselves, their peers and the environment in which they live in. We allow your children to grow not only in a classroom but on a social level as well. Christian Ethos:

English philosopher Dean William Inge, described the aim of education as “the knowledge, not of facts, but of values". It is the aim of PLG Schools, from their inception, to provide values that are centrally focused around a strong Christian Ethos. Springs Academy aims to encourage each pupil to reach their fullest potential academically, to develop to their highest level of sporting excellence, and also to nurture a third important area – the spiritual aspect.

Dear Springs Academy, Family, Colleagues & Friends,

I hope this message finds you well. Today it is with mix of emotions 💔💔 that I reach out to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible 3 Year's spent here at Springs Academy.

Working alongside the amazing kids, dedicated staff, and the supportive administration has been an enriching experience that has left an indelible mark on my professional and personal journey. The passion and dedication of everyone involved in shaping young minds have been truly inspiring.

Regrettably, circumstances beyond my control have led to an unexpected and unfair departure from my role. However, I wish to focus on the positives and express my immense appreciation for the opportunities to contribute, learn, and grow within this vibrant community.

I will forever cherish the memories, the relationships forged, and the unwavering support received during my time here. The impact each one of you has had on me is immeasurable, and I will carry the lessons and fond memories forward.

As I embark on a new chapter, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to every student, colleague, and member of the staff for their kindness, encouragement, and dedication. It has been an honor and privilege to be part of this incredible community.

Though my time here may have come to an unexpected end, the spirit of Springs Academy and the memories we've created together will always hold a special place in my heart.

With deepest gratitude, warm regards & Lots of LOVE,

Mr. Robert Fincham

COMMUNITY POOLS READY FOR SPRING DAY

Most of the City of Ekurhuleni public swimming pools will be opening tomorrow (1 September) to welcome spring after the winter shutdown. During the winter break, the City did extensive maintenance and repairs of pools to prepare them for the splish-splash season starting tomorrow.

A total of 18 community pools located across the City will be open to all bathers to cool off, for fitness, and for leisure purposes and mental stimulation among other benefits.

“We are aware that communities are always looking forward to the re-opening of the pools hence we always ensure that during the winter season, we prepare the pools so that they are ready and safe to use when we re-open them,” says metro spokesman Zweli Dlamini.

Meanwhile, minor maintenance and repair works are still ongoing at the Vosloorus, Palm Ridge, Alberton, Benoni, Brakpan, Alra Park, Gerdview and Van Dyk Park swimming pools. These pools will therefore be opening later in the swimming season.

The entrance fee to all community pools as per the new tariffs is R11.00 per person and R15 for Delville (Germiston) and Boksburg North Swimming Pool in Boksburg which are category A pools. Category A pools are those that are Olympic size and heated indoor / outdoor that are high-profile pools for the hosting of provincial, national, and international events.

All swimming pools, except for the Boksburg North and Delville pools operate from Tuesday to Saturday (10h00 to 18h00), and from 14h00 to 18h00 on Sundays and public holidays.

Boksburg North and Delville operate as follows:

🏊‍♀️Boksburg North Swimming pool:
• Tuesday – Thursday from 05h00 to 20h00;
• Friday, from 05h00 to 17h30;
• Saturday, from 10h00 to 18h00; and
• Sunday from 14h00 to 18h00.
🏊‍♀️Delville Swimming Pool:
• Tuesday – Thursday from 05h00 to 20h00;
• Friday, from 05h00 to 17h00;
• Saturday, from 10h00 to 18h00; and
• Sunday from 14h00 to 18h00.

School children will not be allowed entry to public swimming pools during school hours unless prior arrangements have been made by their schools. This, however, is subject to approval by the City’s Sport and Recreation Department.

Here are the swimming pools that will be opening tomorrow:

• Atlasville
• Benoni Northerns
• Birchleigh
• Boksburg North
• Daveyton
• Delville
• Duduza
• Ebuhleni
• Eden Park
