The Year 1 learners had to build a Fibre Optic lamp using recyclable materials. Under supervision they used a Stanley knife, sidecutters, soldering iron with solder...to create the circuit and the container. They enjoyed the experience and were very proud of their lamps

💜💛WOW Projects Take Centre Stage! 📸

Part 5

Innovation and learner talent were proudly showcased at the official launch of Olympia Park Vocational and Occupational School of Specialisation!

🌐 Our first WOW project, unveiled by Marijean Pretorius Head Girl 2026, featured a fibre optic demonstration in partnership with Cable Feeder Systems, bringing the possibilities of connectivity and technical skills to life.

🚂 Our second WOW project was a motorised train locomotive, built by our Welding, Maintenance and Motor Mechanics learners. Our Sewing and Hospitality learners created and set up the decorations around the train, adding their creativity to this impressive team effort.

These photographs celebrate what our learners can achieve when practical skills, imagination and teamwork come together. Thank you to everyone who helped bring these projects to life!
