At Somerset House, our admissions process is personal, thoughtful, and comprehensive, designed to ensure that every child who joins our community is well-positioned to flourish academically, emotionally, and socially.

We intentionally do not host Open Days; instead, we offer individual, one-on-one tours that allow us to engage meaningfully with each family.

Our preference is for families to experience the school in its natural rhythm, observing real learning, real interactions, and the everyday life of the campus over a staged presentation of the school. This personalised approach also gives us the opportunity to understand each child’s unique needs, strengths, and readiness, while allowing families to experience the school in a calm, authentic way. By prioritising the right fit over volume, we ensure that every child is placed in an environment where they feel secure, supported, and confident - creating the foundations for positive relationships, meaningful learning, and long-term success at Somerset House.

SPRING IN THE SUSTAINABLE GARDEN!
Spring is in the air, and the Sustainable Garden is sprouting back into life after a cold winter. The flowers are vibrant in colour and the insects and bugs are back to their industrious ways. We look forward to the open morning in the last week of the term.

SOMERSET HOUSE CELEBRATES TALENTED PERFORMERS
Somerset House is incredibly proud of the six talented individuals from our school community who are currently performing in The Party! at The Playhouse Theatre until 26 September 2026.

In selected performances, catch Drama Teacher Kelly Holmes as Tassia and past pupil and Sports Coach Liam McCulley as Luca.

Performing throughout the run are past pupils Ryder Mitchell and Kayla Peacocke (née McCulley) as dancers, with Amelia du Toit and Sports Coach Lauren-Lee Fikkies in the ensemble.

What a wonderful reflection of the talent, creativity and confidence that continue to shine within the Somerset House community!

The Party! is an exuberant celebration of 80s hits, packed with energy, nostalgia and plenty of entertainment.

GRADE 1 ART CLUB: CORAL REEF CREATIONS
This term in Grade 1 Art Club, the pupils created their very own coral reefs using pasta and clay. They thoroughly enjoyed each step of the process and took great pride in watching their underwater worlds come to life – even adding their own little sea creatures! The project focused on creating 3-dimensional artwork, developing patience and allowing pupils to explore their creativity within the structure of a set project. Having been learning about the elements of art in class, the coral reef project provided a fun and practical way for them to put these concepts into action while experimenting with shape, texture, colour and form. We were so impressed by their enthusiasm, creativity and beautiful finished creations!
