I offer a tutoring service to primary school students (grade 1 - 7). I am based in Somerset West, v I also offer support with other learning subjects.
I obtained a BA Information Science degree at Stellenbosch University in 2002 and thereafter completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification at the International English School. After almost seven years of working in various fields I realised that my love for languages and education wasn’t disappearing and that in every position I’ve filled, language kept finding its way ba
ck to me. In 2010 I decided to pursue my passion again and went back to Stellenbosch University to complete my Postgraduate Diploma in Translation. Since then I have completed various freelance translation, editing and proofreading projects. My clients have found me to be honest, punctual and hardworking. In 2011 I started as a part-time teacher at the Unit for Afrikaans and English at the Stellenbosch University Language Centre. After teaching for three years, I became a mother and spent the bigger part of 2014 at home with my son. My current main focus is a tutoring service I offer from home where I work with students from Grade 1 – 7 needing assistance with improving their Afrikaans (HL & FAL) and English (HL and FAL). Further areas of support include how to approach/understand/answer question papers properly, study methods, relaxation tips, time management skills as well as helping students to build confidence in their abilities. I am situated right across from Beaumont Primary school (Helderzicht Street) and also offer the service to collect my students from aftercare and accompany them back to school safely after our sessions.
