CELEBRATING ONE OF OUR OWN πππ€π
Logan Welman, our former learner from Mondeor Eco School, is a true example of what can happen when talent, determination, hard work and belief come together.
Loganβs rugby journey began long before she became a learner at Mondeor Eco School.
Growing up in the B Blocks in Macassar, rugby became part of her life from a very young age. From as early as Grade 1, she was playing rugby with the boys, developing a love for the game without knowing where that passion would eventually take her.
At the age of 7, Logan joined Macassar Rugby Club, where she played until the age of 13. Those early years helped lay the foundation for the incredible journey that was still to come.
In 2024, during her matric year, Logan joined Mondeor Eco School.
It was during this important chapter of her life that she met people who would become an important part of her journey. Among them was her mentor, Faizel Felton, who believed in her potential, supported her and helped create opportunities for her to grow.
Through his guidance, Logan also found her way to the Rhinos Academy, where she continued developing her rugby skills and working on the areas where she needed to improve.
At Mondeor Eco School, Logan found teachers who believed in her, encouraged her and accepted her as part of the school family.
As a school, we are incredibly proud to know that the support and encouragement she received during her time with us became part of the foundation upon which she continued to build her dreams.
During her Grade 12 year, Logan also had the incredible privilege of meeting Siya Kolisi, who took the time to speak to her and offer her positive motivation. For Logan, meeting someone who had inspired her was a truly special moment.
After matric, another chapter of Loganβs dream began.
She received a 7s development contract with the Springbok Women, giving her the opportunity to develop her rugby technique, skills and understanding of the game at an even higher level.
She spent the entire 2025 season with the 7s team β a year filled with hard work, growth, challenges, valuable lessons and unforgettable experiences.
Then, in 2026, another incredible milestone was reached.
Logan received a contract to become part of the Springbok Womenβs 15s team. πΏπ¦π
From the B Blocks in Macassar to representing at the highest level, Loganβs journey is a powerful reminder that where you come from does not have to determine how far you can go.
Behind every achievement are countless hours of training, sacrifice, setbacks, challenges, discipline and perseverance.
And behind every dream are often people who believed in you before the world knew your name.
Logan has never stopped believing in herself. She held onto her dreams, even when the journey was difficult, and continued working towards the future she envisioned for herself.
Today, she is living a dream that once began on the fields of Macassar.
Her dreams have come true β but her story is only beginning. ππ
From all of us at Mondeor Eco School, we want Logan to know just how incredibly proud we are of her.
We are proud of the learner who walked through our doors.
We are proud of the young woman she has become.
We are proud of the determination, humility and commitment she has shown throughout her journey.
And most importantly, we are proud to see one of our own pursuing her dreams and inspiring others along the way.
Logan, may you continue to dream boldly, work hard, remain humble and always remember where your journey began.
