From 17–21 August, we’ll be taking part in the Winter Inter-School Big Brag Week — and we’re ready to show everyone just how much spirit our Primary School has! 🌿🙌

🎭✨ Calling all our young performers!

We are excited to introduce the Mondeor Primary School Drama Club—a fun space where learners can build confidence, make new friends and discover the magic of the stage through acting, storytelling, music and theatre games!

No experience is needed—just imagination and enthusiasm! 🌟

Learners who would like to join can sign up with Teacher Lenika. Classes start next week Monday. 🎬

📚✨ Bringing poetry to life!

As part of their Afrikaans project for the term, our Grade 7 learners enjoyed a lovely morning at Sunset Books, where they had the privilege of meeting local poet, author and attorney Thabo Leholo.

Mr Leholo is the author of The Broken Pieces of My Heart, a powerful multilingual poetry collection featuring poems in Afrikaans, English and isiXhosa. His work explores South Africa’s past and present, touching on themes of identity, pain, social justice and hope.

What a special opportunity for our learners to experience how poetry and language can bring stories, history and emotions to life!

🚌🗺️ ’n Afrikaans-avontuur by die Taalmonument!

Ons Graad 6-leerders het onlangs die Afrikaanse Taalmonument in Paarl besoek as deel van hul Afrikaansprojek vir die kwartaal. Elkeen het ’n spesiale kaart ontvang en kon sommer ook hul aardrykskundevaardighede tydens die busrit inspan!

Dit was ’n heerlike oggend vol pret, ontdekking en leer buite die klaskamer. 🌿📚

🌸 MEET OUR GUEST SPEAKER 🌸 Colour Me Pretty High Tea

We are delighted to welcome Dr Michelle Hungwe as our guest speaker at this year’s Colour Me Pretty High Tea!

Dr Hungwe is a specialist psychiatrist with a passion for helping people thrive in body, mind and soul and live healthy, fulfilled lives.

Her work also touches on areas that are close to the hearts of so many women and families in our community, including anxiety, depression, autism spectrum disorder, adolescent mental health and neurocognitive disorders. It makes her perspective especially meaningful in a community where, as moms, we are so often navigating not only our own wellbeing, but that of the people we love. 🌿

As women, we spend so much of our lives caring for everyone around us. Our High Tea is a morning to connect, laugh, be spoiled and perhaps be reminded that caring for ourselves matters too.

We cannot wait to hear what Dr Hungwe will be sharing with us! 💕

Mandela Day at Mondeor Eco High School 💛🥣

Our learners and staff came together for Mandela Day and prepared 23 litres of nutritious soup for those in need.
