A fun filled day is planned with loads of activities, entertainment and spectacular foods on Sunday 28 October 2018 from 11 am.

A true exciting Ukrainian atmosphere will be created to entertain all and remember there’s no entrance fee at our market 😊

What to expect:

Bandura -
Bandura, also called kobza, a stringed instrument of the psaltery family considered the national musical instrument of Ukraine. It is used chiefly to accompany folk music. The modern bandura has an oval wooden body; a short, fret-less neck attached to the soundboard in an off-center position and 68 chromatically tuned treble strings stretched over the soundboard.

Pop-Folk/Rock-Folk music - Svitlana Sheremet –
A classically trained vocalist and pianist, a person of various talents. A finalist and a special award winner of two Beauty and Talent competitions in Ukraine, Zaporizhia: “Woman of the year 2003”, “Lady Zaporizhia 2005”.

Ukrainian Raffle -

Hopak -
A Ukrainian folk dance originating as a male dance among the Zaporizhia Cossacks in 16th century, but later danced by couples, male soloists, and mixed groups of dancers. Cossacks -
Were a group of Ukrainian men, warriors, who became known as members of democratic, self-governing, semi-military communities, predominantly located in in South-Eastern Ukraine. More about Cossacks: https://www.britannica.com/place/Ukraine/The-Cossacks

Petrikivka painting -
(or simply "Petrykivka") is a traditional Ukrainian decorative painting style, originating from the village of Petrykivka in Dnipropetrovsk oblast of Ukraine, where it was traditionally used to decorate house walls and everyday household items. The earliest known examples of this style date from the 17th century, but it continues to thrive and develop as a modern art form.

Masterclass on Hopak – Both males and females can participate in learning these basic movements.
