Red Class had fun learning about numbers and shapes through hands-on activities that incorporated many fine motor and perceptual skills. Learners practiced counting, sorting, building shapes, and number recognition while strengthening hand-eye coordination, pencil grip, visual perception, and problem-solving skills in an engaging and interactive way. 🟡🔷🟩♦️

In Green class, we practiced important life skills by learning how to use a stapler and hole puncher safely and correctly. These activities not only teach independence and responsibility, but also help to develop fine motor skills, hand strength, coordination, and concentration. Practising everyday classroom tasks helps build confidence and prepares learners for daily activities both at school and in the future. 🙌🏻

Combining fine motor skills with numeracy skills has strong developmental benefits, especially in early childhood education, because it links physical coordination with cognitive understanding of numbers.

When children use their hands while learning numeracy, they are not just memorizing concepts—they are experiencing them. For example, counting beads, writing numbers, building with blocks, or tracing shapes all require small muscle control while reinforcing mathematical ideas.

Teaching learners about tens and ones introduces them to place value, the foundation of our numeracy system.

We used our abacus and built numbers using our tens and ones flash cards. 💪🏻
