Happy Father's Day to all our amazing Rooha Dads!

This week, our little chefs rolled up their sleeves and got busy creating a very special gift just for you – your very own Braai Spice!

There was lots of mixing, stirring, smelling, and of course... tasting! Some little taste-testers were so impressed with their creations that they may have sneaked an extra taste (or two!) just to make sure it was perfect for Dad. After all, quality control is very important!

We hope this special blend adds a little extra flavour to your next braai and reminds you of the tiny hands, big smiles, and lots of love that went into making it.

Thank you for being the kings of the braai, the masters of the tongs, and the heroes of your little ones.

Wishing all our Rooha Dads a Father's Day filled with laughter, love, family, and perfectly seasoned braai fires!

🌍✈️ Countries of the World ✈️🌍

What an exciting few weeks we have had exploring the wonderful countries of our world!

Our learners discovered different cultures, traditions, foods, and landmarks from across the globe. We were fortunate to have friends and teachers share special items from other countries, giving us a unique glimpse into life around the world. We smelled exotic spices, admired beautiful pictures, and even tasted delicious snacks from different countries.

Our culinary journey was a highlight of the theme! For lunch, we enjoyed special dishes from around the world, including Peposo from Italy 🇮🇹, corn dogs from America 🇺🇸, Gołąbki from Poland 🇵🇱, and Swedish meatballs from Sweden 🇸🇪, just to name a few.

To bring our adventure to a close, our creative learners designed and made their very own African masks, celebrating the rich cultures of our beautiful continent. 🎨🦁🌍

Learning about the world has shown us that while we may come from different places, we are all connected through friendship, curiosity, and kindness.

What a wonderful journey around the world it has been! ❤️

🐧✨ A quick update from our adopted penguins! ✨🐧

We are SO excited to share some wonderful news from our Rooha Kids penguin adoption journey! 💚

Our Green Class penguin, Cupcake, was successfully released back into the wild! 🌊🐧

Cupcake originally washed ashore during the middle of the moulting process and needed special care and rehabilitation. Thanks to the incredible work of the rescue team from African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary - APSS — and the love and support from our Rooha Kids — Cupcake successfully completed the moult, regained strength, and is now back where penguins belong… in the wild! 💙

Before release, Cupcake received a tiny microchip for permanent identification. This helps conservation teams identify and monitor penguins in the future without affecting their natural behaviour. We even received adorable photos and a sweet little video of Cupcake doing a penguin waddle after the microchip was inserted! 🥹🐾

We are incredibly proud to have been part of Cupcake’s rehabilitation journey and so thankful that our children could learn about caring for and protecting these amazing animals. 🐧🌍

Now we hope the ocean will provide plenty of fish and safe waters for Cupcake’s next big adventure! 🌊✨

We learned all about our four seasons! We made a beautiful seasonal tree and an autumn leaf. A Reminder that each season has it's own colours and weather🍃🍁🌸❄️

🐧✨ Meet Our New Feathered Friends! ✨🐧

We are so excited to introduce something very special at our preschool… our very own adopted African penguins! 💙

In collaboration with Marine Dynamics Whale Tours and African Penguin and Seabird Sanctuary - APSS, each of our classes has proudly adopted a penguin. Our little learners even got to name them and discover fascinating facts about these incredible animals!

Say hello to our penguin family:
Gloria, Rainbow, Cupcake, Coco & Splash 🐧💫

As part of this journey, our children learned so much about African penguins:

- They are critically endangered and almost extinct
- Seals sometimes bite penguins to steal fish or food from their stomachs
- Penguins moult (lose their feathers) once a year and need enough food to grow new ones
- You can only tell if a penguin is male or female through a special blood test

This project has been such a beautiful way to teach our children about care, conservation, and compassion 🌍💚

Even more special — all proceeds go directly towards the rehabilitation of these penguins, helping them recover and return safely to their natural habitat.
