๐๐ฎ๐๐ค๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ค๐ is a famous Western comic book series created in 1946 by Belgian artist Morris. It follows a clever, fast-shooting cowboy who is "faster than his shadow", joined by his smart horse, Jolly Jumper.
Morris wrote and drew the early issues alone, featuring a more realistic and rugged cowboy style. Morris then teamed up with legendary writer Renรฉ Goscinny (who also wrote Asterix and Obelix) in 1955.
The stories then adopted a humorous, satirical tone and introduced iconic recurring foes like the bumbling Dalton cousins.
Following Goscinny's death in 1977, Morris worked with various other writers.
Morris continued drawing until his death in 2001, after which artist Achdรฉ took over the artwork with new writers.
Translated into dozens of languages, it remains one of Europe's best-selling comic series.
