Play Sense

Play Sense I am an occupational therapist who has a love for children, creativiy and fun. I'm also available to tailor the Play Sense at-home activities for my class.

My online class is all about making connections, online activities, singing and story telling. Jillian Gerber's Bio:
I am an occupational therapist with a love for children, and I have spent many happy years working in the field of pediatrics in the USA and South Africa. Prior to joining Play Sense, I worked in schools and early intervention in the USA; and then in South Africa I worked in pediatr

ic private practice and at a special needs school. Most recently I was a play-coach for Nanny ‘n Me, teaching nanny-caregivers early child development play skills in weekly groups. I was inspired by seeing the positive effect a sensitive caregiver has on a child’s development at a young age, and I feel privileged to have been part of facilitating this. Group Description:
We start our group by checking in with each other and I encourage the little ones to take turns to share or show something they want to, to their friends. This builds the sense of connection in our group. We follow a similar routine each day, to build a sense of familiarity and belonging. We sing songs that incorporate actions and smiles and I share a story and a video related to our theme and activities for the day. We do an activity together and enjoy seeing how our friends do the activity and show off the end product. This also gives me a better idea of each child’s personality and abilities, so I can tailor the program to meet their specific needs.
