On Saturday aunty Taryn was invited to join the special needs schools principals meet and greet.... what an awesome morning gaining knowledge and resources from others who advocate for our neurodivergent kiddies 🥰

Today Singatha hosted a meet and greet for principals in the special needs community. It was a resounding success, revealing the depth of passion and dedication in this extraordinary group of individuals who go above and beyond for those outside mainstream education❤️🩷🧡💛💚💙🩵💜 Thank you to all who joined from near and far!

A few helpful tips that we hope will help those first day back scaries! 🫣

🌈 Talk about school positively
Chat about the fun things they’ll do—playtime, stories, new friends, and kind teachers.

📚 Read books about starting school
Stories help children understand what to expect and feel less unsure.

🕰️ Practice the routine
Try waking up, getting dressed, and having breakfast at “school time” a few days before.

🎒 Let them help prepare
Choosing their bag, clothes, or snack gives them a sense of control and excitement.

💞 Keep goodbyes short and sweet
A confident hug, a smile, and a quick goodbye helps children feel secure.

🤍 Trust the process
Tears are okay. Feelings are okay. With love, patience, and consistency, children settle in beautifully.

We can’t wait to welcome our little learners and begin a year filled with growth, play, and happy moments 🌟🐰

Last week Friday, we had three very excited Baker Baker’s 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

🧁 Sharing - children learn to give something they have brought from home, this builds kindness and allows them to feel the joy of sharing with friends.

🧁 Confidence - Each child has a chance to feel loved and special when it is their turn to be the baker baker, it helps them feel included and celebrated!

🧁 “thank you” - Baker baker teaches them the social skills for saying please and thank you, as well as practicing taking turns!

🧁 Emotional regulation - This assist learners in dealing with uncomfortable situations or things they do not like for example: turn taking, not getting the specific cupcake they want or how to deal with managing excitement in the correct way!

While Baker baker is just such fun, it is also a form of learning through play! Which is what we are all about at Bunnikins 🐰💜

Our new outdoor equipment arrived this week.... the children had great fun playing on the new car (they were headed to the beach, their stuff was in the boot) and our new mud kitchen 😀
