Bloom is a Special Needs School for children with a variety of diagnosis; Down Syndrome, Autism, Low IQ, Non-specified learning difficulties and children that are not coping in mainstream schools. Bloom aims to work at each child’s specific developmental level so that they can learn through growth and experience. The classrooms are structured in small groups where learners will have small group ti

me as well as individual teaching time. Academic lessons, social skills training, gross and fine motor development and sensopathic experiences are incorporated into our daily programme to ensure personalities will grow and minds will expand. Bloom believes that using a holistic approach together with the parents we can set and reach realistic goals. A Trans-disciplinary approach will include our onsite Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist as well as other liaising therapists (Physiotherapist/Psychologist and Dietician etc). Bloom will provide information and resources to local schools and be a resource to parents in the area. Bloom will initially be for children between the age of 3 -10 years of age. In the future we will incorporate support groups, caregiver training, developmental programmes and vocational training. Bloom is in the planning stage, we hope to be up and running in January 2014
