This broken-winged butterfly was found by one of our learners while on our trail walk today. It was quickly decided that it would be carried along for the adventure 🚜

One WILDLY great first day back at the learning hub this past Wednesday, for our 2026 year!

Another year of growth, laughter, lessons and learning, all in nature and surrounded by great company, at WildED Learning Hub.

Our numbers have grown and we couldn't be more excited to tackle another term of adventures with this eager lot! 💚 🐾 🌳

Young Conservationists Take the Lead at Crocworld’s WildED Holiday Camp

The WildEd Africa Holiday Camp concluded a successful week at Crocworld Conservation Centre over the school holidays, giving young adventurers a hands-on introduction to conservation, outdoor skills, and teamwork.

Hosted at the WildED Learning Hub by experienced camp leaders, the programme saw youngsters participate in orienteering challenges, a hike to Green Point Lighthouse, and real-world conservation work at Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh.

This included supervised animal interactions, birding, team building exercises, survival skills, shelter building - plus a visit to Jikileza Outdoor Adventures, the only aerial adventure zipline in the region.

The week ended with an Adventure Race that brought together the skills and confidence built throughout the programme.

Matt Machell-Cox, co-owner of WildED Africa and programme director, commented: “It was great to welcome new and returning youngsters to our holiday adventure. These hands-on experiences play a vital role in connecting young people with nature while encouraging environmental awareness through real-world experiences. We’re looking forward to introducing more kids to the natural world through our upcoming camps and events!”

Crocworld and WildED Africa will host more youth-focused camps and conservation activities in the coming year. Families are encouraged to stay connected via Crocworld Conservation Centre and WildED Africa’s social media platforms for updates on upcoming events.

Two of our WildED learners have completed the theory and pool sessions of their Open Water 1 scuba qualification, and this week, they tackle their ocean dives! 🥽 🐠 WildED is so proud of you! 🌊

Offer your child the most memorable week of REWILDING this December holiday 🐾

The WildED Holiday Camp is back to get your children out of the house and into nature. Hosted at Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh from 15 to 19 December for children aged 8 to 13, this action-packed camp is all about fresh air, friendship, and fun.

Children will explore the outdoors through:

🌊 Lighthouse hikes & tree planting
💪 The Jikaleza treetop rope course
🏃‍♂️ An epic Adventure Race!

Every activity is designed to build confidence, teamwork, and a love for nature. It’s the perfect way for kids to make new friends and gain real-world skills through outdoor exploration and conservation-based learning.
