Flavius Mareka TVET College participates in the Bridge-to-work Youth Day 2026 at the Boiketlong Sports Centre, Zamdela, Sasolburg. The aim of this initiative was to bring together participants from Sasol's fence-line communities, such as young people seeking pathways into work, individuals who have completed training and are ready to apply their skills, Entrepreneurs, and small business owners. This platform is designed to change that by bringing the ecosystem to them.

Bridge-to-work is Sasol's flagship employability and enterprise development programme, focused on enabling real economic participation within its fence-line communities. The programme is designed as a structured pathway, supporting individuals from Skill development, to work readiness, to entrepreneurship and enterprise, to participate in local value chains and the broader economy.

Bridge-to-work has invested in building capacity in sectors where there is both practical demand and growth potential, including:
Agriculture, Technical trades such as welding, Renewable energy, particularly solar PV Installation, Motor Mechanics artisan trade, Handyman Services, Home improvement Services, Digital and technology - enabled services ( Data science, Coding, Robotics, and Drone Piloting)

The Youth Technology and Innovation Programme( YTIP, NPC, TIA's, and Inhlanyelo Hub invites Flavius Mareka TVET College to join an exciting innovation programme designed to develop young innovators and entrepreneurs. Who can apply? A registered TVET student with innovative ideas and an interest in technology, entrepreneurs, and problem-solving.

The benefits of attending the workshop: Innovation & entrepreneurship training; mentorship from industry experts; developing market-ready ideas; pitching your innovation; competing at the provincial level; and accessing funding & incubation opportunities.

Flavius Mareka TVET College at the Central Office celebrated the Youth Month, whereby this month honors the role of young people in the fight against apartheid, particularly commemorating the Soweto Uprising of 1976, when students protested against the imposition of Afrikaans as a medium of instruction in schools

The 2026 observance marks the 50th Golden Jubilee of this historic event, highlighting the sacrifices and contributions of youth to South Africa’s liberation struggle.
