A Tribute to Owen Kuyper

It is with profound sadness that we remember and honour Owen Kuyper, a remarkable educator, leader and principal whose impact on Crawford International will be felt for generations to come.

Over an extraordinary 21 years of service, Owen served as Principal across several Crawford International schools — Crawford Pretoria, Crawford North Coast, Crawford La Lucia, Crawford Bedfordview and Crawford Lonehill. Throughout his career, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to the growth and success of his schools, always placing the wellbeing, development and potential of every student at the heart of his leadership.

Owen was more than a principal. He was a mentor, a colleague, a source of wisdom and a steadfast presence in the lives of countless students, families and staff members. His commitment to education, his passion for people and his belief in what young people could achieve left an indelible mark wherever he served.

His 21 years of leadership represent a remarkable legacy, one built on dedication, integrity, compassion and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

We extend our deepest condolences to Owen’s family, friends, colleagues and to all those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

Thank you, Owen, for a lifetime of service, leadership and inspiration. Your legacy will live on in the many lives you touched and in the Crawford community you served with such distinction.

Rest in peace. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Grade 6s Explore the World of Theatre ✨🎭

Our Grade 6 students enjoyed an exciting educational visit to Wits Theatre at the University of the Witwatersrand, stepping behind the scenes to discover what it takes to bring a production to life.

From props, costumes and stage sets to acting and production, students explored the many creative elements that make theatre possible. They also toured the theatre and met university lecturers and students, gaining valuable insight into the world of Performing Arts and future opportunities in the creative arts industry.

A wonderful day of learning, discovery and inspiration!

Crawford Sandton Volleyball Takes on Mahikeng 🏐

Our Crawford Volleyball Teams travelled to Mahikeng to compete in the International School of South Africa’s 17th Annual Volleyball Tournament, and what a weekend it was!

Our Phoenix (U19 Girls), Clovers (U19 Boys) and Cubs (U16 Girls) showed incredible determination, teamwork and sportsmanship against some of the strongest school teams in the country.

🏐 Phoenix secured a Top-4 finish
🏐 Clovers battled their way to the quarter-finals
🏆 Crawford was named Most Disciplined Team for the second consecutive year!

We are incredibly proud of every player who represented Crawford with passion, resilience and pride. What a team! 👏
