The stage is set for our very first Courtyard Karaoke!

We're collaborating with The Hub Cafe and The Quiz Guy to provide a brand new platform for local talent in our family-friendly courtyard space at the Rustic Timber centre in the heart of Fourways.

Sing your favourite song, play a piece on any instrument and gain valuable performance experience in an encouraging and non-competitive environment...

When spaces are limited, preference will be given to young performers, but anyone may sing or play.

A stage piano will be provided for budding Beethovens.

Join us in welcoming Dutch flautist Brigit Span to our exceptional team of music teachers.

Brigit brings over 20 years of teaching expertise to our school, and vast performance experience including more than a decade as Principal Flautist of the East Gelders Symphony Orchestra in Doetinchem.

Since completing her professional training in flute performance at the prestigious ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands, Brigit has taught all ages of students, from beginner flautists and recorder players to adult amateurs and restarters, at various schools including her own music school in Doesburg.

Brigit believes that every child deserves access to quality music education and the chance to discover their musical potential. Now based in South Africa, she is excited to continue sharing her love of music with new students of all ages and levels.

The KeyNotes Storytellers curriculum goes beyond traditional piano lessons, immersing students in a world where music becomes a language of character, mood, feelings and storytelling.

We discover what the elements are that make music and then match them to stories and characters! Would the 🐰 Hare’s music be fast, or slow? Would the 🧟‍♂️ Giant’s song be loud, or soft?

🎶 Storytellers learners develop the musical vocabulary to describe the impact of what they hear through listening exercises, interval and rhythm training, games and singing, building a solid technical foundation and expressing their creativity through improvisation and even their very first compositions.
