Meet the Bloem's.

Mom and Dad realised that the best time to build a childs conference to set boundaries, either verbally or physically, is to start their daughter in our Gracie BullyProof® program when she is young.

We emphasize that parents should introduce their children to Jiu-Jitsu through play rather than force, making fun the primary hook to build lifelong love for the art.

Prioritise fun over technique early on:
Between 3 and 6 years old we do not formally teach them techniques until they are 6 years old. Instead, we introduced "Gracie Games" to build a physical connection and love for the mat. Think of it as the movements required to have mastered before they learn the real techniques.

Avoid pushing too hard:
We also warn that pushing children into strict, aggressive training too early is the number one reason kids quit martial arts. Keep it playful.

Focus on positive reinforcement:
When a child makes a mistake, parents and coaches should emphasize the correctly executed aspects of the move rather than focusing on the error.

Build a parent-child bond: Practising playful jiu-jitsu elements together builds a deep, physical, and emotional connection between parents and children. With our online training platform, Gracie University, we teach parents how to practice the techniques at home with their children.
