After consoling mom, she told me the morning to move my things into her house. According to the mansion could be so quiet and boring especially when the maid is not around. I quite liked the idea and swept my belongings from the hotel where I lodged and moved in with mom.

I came in the morning, Charlotte, the maid had left early so there was nobody to make breakfast. I decided to enter the kitchen and cook something up. I was about entering when I bumped into someone and the bottle of water which was opened spilled on my face and cloth!

" oh my gosh! " I stepped back shaking my face.
" I'm deeply sorry." It was a man, a dark, muscular man in white singlet and shorts. His hair was dyed white and curled, he had an earring on one side of the ear, a gold necklace dangled from his neck and settled on his carved chest.

" don't you ever watch were you going?" I asked annoyed it didn't Matter if he was as handsome as Aaron Pierre. He was effortlessly trying to conceal his smile.

" what's funny now dude?" I asked.

" nothing, I'm just wondering if Charlotte left for you to take over or..." His words trailed off as he eyes scanned me in loose fitting pants and tank top and trainers.

" excuse you! I'm no maid please." I told him off.

" then you who are you? You must be her daughter then?"

I got even more infuriated and wanted to reply him defiantly but a voice broke in.

" waje? Mother appeared in her white, furry robe, wearing her hair warmer. I caught glimpse of the crow feet her makeup her so carefully concealed.
" oh, waje you must be wondering who's this pretty girl in our house. Mother said smiling at me. She's Ayomide, my daughter."

" your what!! I could see the shock in his face as he looked from me to mother hoping we would laugh. I thought you never had a child!"

" oh actually, I tried to avoid this part of the story and right babe, yes, I do have a child– children in fact." Said mother.

" Babe? " I asked confused and staring at the young man stand..

I was on my own when this girl texted me that she needs my help. I asked about what and she told me she want to make her ex boyfriend jealous,

"How I wan take help you for the matter? " I asked and she said I should just act like I'm her new boyfriend, we'll hang out together and play in a romantic way and do everything that will make him jealous, she said the guy must come to the usual place they always go on valentines, so I should just act like her new lover.

I thought about it and agreed. This girl is a girl I've asked out before and she no gree for me, maybe it's a way to win her heart because, if I help her do this, she will definitely fall in love with me ☺️ … I foooolishly thought

As we went out to the event center, I held her hand which she scornfully removed and told me to hold her around her waist, that it is more romantic.

“Hmm... “ I started feeling shy as I round my arm on her waist walking in, she was busy using her eyes to search for the ex boyfriend.

Suddenly, we saw the boy sitting in the hotel bar drinking, actually he was alone so the girl was happier that he'll be more jealous seeing us since he's lonely.

When the boy saw us, the girl told me to take her to the reception so I will lodge as the guy was looking, that it will make him more jealous.

I agreed and we walked toward the reception, I asked how much for a room and the receptionist said 18k, I nearly screamed, but I kept calm.

I told her to pay and she said if the guy see her paying, then he will think me her new boyfriend is broke, then he might not be jealous again.

I asked them if they accept transfer and they agreed, I transferred the 18k to them and I held her waist as the porter took us upstairs to show us the room. The guy was watching us and with his face I can feel he's getting jealous.

As we entered the room, she sat down on the bed and I asked what next.

I never knew my mom, but dad always told my twin sister and I that our mother was a very busy woman and needn't be disturbed. I grew up to wonder what my mother looked like, if we resembled her because father never kept pictures of her around the house and we never spoke with her before. But that would always say she sent her regards.

Every holiday, she'd sent money for us to go to Hong Kong Disney land, bought us luscious toys and restocked our wardrobe with new clothes every Christmas. We literally had everything we wanted but we never met the woman that afforded us all this. Dad never bothered to tell us about her– he always switched the convention each time it was brought up.

One day after college, I got fed up. I was determined to find my mother even if she was dead! On one of dad's business trip, I sneaked into his bedroom hopefully to find clues that would lead me to mom. I ransacked his wardrobe, boxes and luggage, I then moved to his chest drawers and rummage his documents. There and then I found a parcel that held the address of her last order of shoes to us. It read " Lagos, Nigeria..." . I was confused as this was half truth– Lagos must be a big city as I've read in books and blogs and there's definitely no way I could search the whole of Lagos to find her!

I went further in my search and found a teller receipt on mother's last transaction with dad and saw
" Maverick Ave.
Victoria island,
Lagos, Nigeria."

I excitedly slipped the teller receipt into my trouser pocket, arranged back everything and left. Having gotten the information I needed,I started to pack, I needed to book a flight from L.A to Nigeria ASAP. Next I phoned dad and told him I needed some cash to spend in the holiday and he obliged and sent five hundred dollars. At least that could handle my flight and other stuffs.

I didn't bother telling Susan because she was also busy with her own stuff. I just told the nanny I was going on a trip and would be back soon. I took off the next wee
