The Secret Garden Playschool

Last Friday, our Secret Garden children enjoyed a wonderful Pyjama & Teddy Day! 💛 Everyone arrived dressed in their coziest pyjamas, with their favourite teddy bears and cuddly friends in tow. The children also enjoyed a treat of hot chocolate which added to the special day ☕🤎

We loved seeing everyone dressed up and with their favourite fluffy companions! 🧸✨

✨ Festival of St John’s – A Celebration of Light ✨

On Wednesday, our Secret Garden family came together to celebrate our beautiful Waldorf-inspired Festival of St John’s—a special Festival of Light that reminds us of courage, hope, and the light we carry within.

The children shared their Winter circle with their parents, and then gather around the fire, enjoying its warmth and beauty before following Abby on a magical treasure hunt. The children discovered little bags filled with semi-precious stones, adding a touch of wonder to the morning.

While the children explored, parents enjoyed coffee and tea together, and afterwards the children warmed up with delicious hot chocolate. As the fire died down, children and parents who wished to take part had the opportunity to jump over the fire—a joyful tradition symbolising courage, renewal, and embracing new beginnings.

On Thursday, the magic continued as the children enjoyed a special lantern tea. They proudly displayed the beautiful lanterns they had made, with tea lights glowing gently on the tables as they enjoyed their morning snack together. It was a peaceful and memorable way to reflect on the warmth and light of the festival.

On Sunday, we celebrated the special fathers, grandfathers, and father figures who fill our children’s lives with love, guidance, and support.

Our little ones created beautiful cards and made a special footprint keepsake. Their painted footprints were transformed into light bulbs with the message:

Thank you for being the steady hands, the biggest supporters, and the shining lights in your children’s lives.

We hope all our dads had a wonderful Father’s Day filled with love, laughter, and precious family moments. 💙

Our Moonlight children have been working so hard on their sewing skills lately! 🧵✨

They are busy creating the most beautiful little caterpillars, and some of the children have already started making their butterflies too! 🐛🦋

Fine motor activities like sewing are so beneficial for young children as they help to strengthen hand muscles, improve hand-eye coordination, encourage focus and perseverance, and develop the important skills needed for writing and everyday tasks. 💛

We are so proud of their patience, concentration, and creativity as they learn new skills through hands-on fun.🙂

🐐🐷🐄 A Visit from the Farmyard! 🐴🐔🦆🐰

What a special day at our school! Every year around Easter time, we have a visit from The Farm Corner - and wow, this year the excitement on our children’s faces said it all 😊

They absolutely loved meeting all the animals — a friendly goat, a gentle cow, two adorable little pigs, a donkey, a pony, chickens, ducks, bunnies, and guinea pigs!!

The children loved learning about the animals from the farmer and they had so much fun feeding and petting the animals. Hands on learning at it's best! The absolute highlight of the day was definitely the pony rides! 🐴✨
