ST STITHIANS BOYS’ COLLEGE FILM CLUB STUDENTS TAKE TO THE AIRWAVES ON 5FM

Our Boys’ College Film Club recently took to the airwaves on 5FM to celebrate their remarkable achievements on the international stage.

Director and writer Landi Chinkanda, co-director Shakeel Karumia, and cinematographer Gosego Kobo, accompanied by MIC of Film Club Mr Martin Grendele, visited the 5FM studios to discuss their latest project, The Play (or the Failure Thereof).

The film recently made history as the first South African school film to be officially selected for the All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF), the world’s largest festival dedicated to high school filmmaking.

Our students spoke about their filmmaking process, the excitement of representing South Africa internationally, and the importance of the arts and storytelling to young people.

This achievement is a wonderful reflection of what our Film Club is all about: giving students the opportunity to learn by making, tell their own stories, and take their work beyond the classroom and onto the world stage.

We couldn’t be prouder of our young filmmakers!

THANDULWAZI - YET ANOTHER MONTH OF SUCCESSFUL SATURDAY SCHOOL

With the final stretch of the academic year now in sight, our Thandulwazi school students and teachers have continued to show remarkable commitment by turning up in numbers every Saturday. Despite the bitterly cold mornings Johannesburg has experienced over the past few weeks, our Thandiulwazi students have remained dedicated to strengthening their Mathematics, Science, Accounting, and English skills, bright and early each weekend.

We are incredibly proud of our Thandulwazi boys and girls for their determination, resilience, and hard work.

While our school students have been hard at work in their classrooms, our Thandulwazi Early Childhood Development (ECD) Teacher Programme students have also shown unwavering commitment to their own growth and development. Attending in large numbers, they continue to upskill themselves and unlock their full potential as educators, striving to become the very best teachers for young learners across Gauteng.

From coding and cognitive development tools to understanding the importance of effective processes and their implementation, our ECD students have enthusiastically explored a range of important disciplines. Along the way, they have gained valuable knowledge, developed new skills, and had plenty of fun learning together.

Today marked the final Saturday of our August classes, and with warmer weather on the horizon, we are excited to welcome the arrival of spring and all the opportunities it brings.

We enjoyedwelcoming all our Thandulwazi student today for another inspiring day of learning and growth.

ST STITHIANS GIRLS’ COLLEGE’S’ ZAZI MANZANA SHOWS HER COLOURS ON METRO FM

We are incredibly proud of Girls’ College student, Zazi Manzana who was interviewed this week on the Touchdown by Thabo “Tbo Touch” Molefe and Luthando “LootLove” Shosha. The interview was a part of the segment of the show and this past Wednesday’s insert included Zazi who joined St Stithians Girls’ College in 2022 as a Grade 8 learner and will complete her Grade 12 year in 2026. The interview focused on the recent Quadruple Honours that Zazi achieved at St Stithians Girls’ College - the first time that this has been achieved in the Girls’ College’s history.

Throughout her high school journey, she has excelled as a well-rounded student, making her mark academically, in sport, culture, leadership and community engagement. Her dedication, versatility and passion have made her a remarkable contributor to the Girls’ College community.

Shout out to the team at who chose to focus on Zazi as one of their candidates this week. Zazi’s Mom and Dad, Nozi and Nathi also joined her on air and we congratulate and thank the Manzana family for a really great interview. Click the link to hear it:
