What a wonderful week it has been in Grade R! Our days have been filled with exciting experiences, learning opportunities, and lots of fun. We enjoyed special visits from our beloved Care Bears, got creative with Eric Carle-inspired art activities, and practised our cutting skills as we strengthened our fine motor development. We explored letters through engaging activities, celebrated Pyjama Day, challenged ourselves with perceptual games, and let our imaginations run wild while dressing up in our fantasy corners. Every day brought new adventures, laughter, and opportunities to learn through play!

Helpfulness was the word of the day as Grades 00 and 000 worked together to offload new materials for their sensory area. The children eagerly helped to empty bags and sort stones, rocks, bark, sand, macadamia nut shells and soft bristle coir into different spaces. The coir has become a favourite spot to lie down, relax and watch the clouds drift by.

The children in Grade 000 have thoroughly enjoyed the “Shopping” theme. They have been actively engaged in various activities, including crafting salt dough doughnuts, creating wallets with coins for use in the classroom shop, designing tasty pizzas with variety toppings, and putting together their own shopping baskets.

The Grade Rs explored a fun and creative sensory activity by practising the skill of grating. They carefully grated pieces of chalk to turn it into a fine powder, which they then mixed to create their own colourful paint. Using the tar road as their canvas, the children worked together with their friends to design and create beautiful artworks, enjoying both the process and the opportunity to collaborate.
