To them, it's play. To us, it's learning.
When children build, paint, climb, imagine, talk and play together, they're developing skills they'll carry with them far beyond the classroom.
They're learning how to solve problems, communicate, share, create, move confidently and understand the world around them.
That's why play is such an important part of every day at Bubbly Hippos.
Because when little ones are having fun, some very BIG learning can be happening too.

Happy ! 🇿🇦 Today we celebrate the beautiful cultures, languages, traditions and stories that make South Africa so special.

For our little ones, Heritage Day is also an opportunity to learn that while our families may have different traditions and backgrounds, every one of us has something special to share.

By teaching children to be curious about one another, celebrate their own heritage and respect the heritage of others, we're helping to raise a generation that understands the beauty of our diversity.
From all of us at Bubbly Hippos Rustenburg, happy Heritage Day! 💛

The hippos are celebrating their roots. We're commemorating Heritage Day in a very special way at Bubbly Hippo's 🇿🇦.

We hope every parent, teacher, guardian and learner experience a memorable Heritage Day tomorrow!

For little ones, a big open-ended question can sometimes be difficult to answer. Asking smaller, more specific questions can make it easier for them to remember their day and share their experiences with you.
Try asking:
💬 What made you laugh today?
💬 Who did you play with?
💬 What was your favourite thing you did?
💬 Did you learn something new?
💬 What would you like to do again tomorrow?

SAVE this for your next school pick-up.

"I can do it!" 🏅
Those four little words can mean so much in the early years.
Allowing children to complete simple, age-appropriate tasks independently helps them build confidence, coordination, responsibility and problem-solving skills.

Packing away → Responsibility
Putting on shoes → Independence
Pouring water → Coordination
Choosing an activity → Decision-making
Helping a friend → Confidence & empathy

Fine motor skills help children with everyday tasks such as holding a pencil, using scissors, getting dressed and feeding themselves.
The good news? You don't need fancy equipment to practise them at home.

Simple activities like using pegs, pouring water between cups, tearing and pasting paper, playing with playdough and sorting objects can all help strengthen the small muscles in your child's hands and fingers.

At Bubbly Hippo’s, we believe some of the most important learning happens through play, exploration and everyday experiences.
Which of these activities does your little one enjoy most?
