Courtesy Visit to Kgosi Pilane & the Elders of Moruleng
Before the Rustenburg Arts Festival took root in Moruleng, we first took a step of respect.
We came to sit with Kgosi Pilane of Bakgatla Ba Kgafela, to introduce ourselves, to share the heart behind RAF, and to humbly ask for the blessing of the royal house and the elders of Moruleng.
We were received with warmth by Kgosi, MaKgosi, and the council of elders.
Our conversation went beyond an event — it was about purpose: how RAF can serve the community, how arts and culture can carry heritage forward, and how identity becomes opportunity when given a platform.
A moment that stayed with us was the tour of the Kgosi’s courthouse museum.
In Moruleng, history is not locked away. Culture and heritage speak to each other here, and together they shape what comes next.
We left with full hearts — welcomed, honoured, and blessed.
RAF Moruleng Activation stood on that foundation: where heritage met culture, and culture opened the door to the future
