Today Teacher Felistus showed us 4 EMOTIONS. I was interpreting:
1. `ANGRY` 😡 - Claw hand to chest + fierce eyebrows + tight lips
2. `CRUEL` 😠 - X-hand twists at heart + hard, mean face
3. `CRYING` 😭 - Index fingers stream down cheeks + sad, scrunched face
4. `EAGER` 🤩 - Hands rub together fast + bright eyes + body leaning in
Rule: No face = no meaning. Deaf people watch your expression FIRST. You can’t sign `ANGRY` while smiling 😅 CHALLENGE ⬇️ Duet this and show Teacher Felistus your best `EAGER` or `ANGRY` face! She’ll comment on the best ones. Which emotion do you feel most today? Deaf Teacher Felistus is BACK with more ZSL TOWN SIGNS! 🗺️✨ Last time I tried signing some towns... today the expert continued. I was just interpreting 😅 She taught us:
1. `GUTU` -
2. `KADOMA`
3. `CHIREDZI` -
4. Beitbridge
Why this matters: Town signs in ZSL come from Deaf communities who LIVE there. You can’t learn these from a textbook — only from Deaf Zimbabweans like Teacher Felistus. HOMEWORK ⬇️ If you’re from GUTU, KADOMA, CHIREDZI or BEITBRIDGE, comment `ME` + sign your town! Let’s see how many hometowns we can find. BIG NEWS! Meet my friend Felistus 👋 She is DEAF and she’s now helping me teach YOU Zimbabwe Sign Language!
In ZSL she signed: `HELLO MY NAME Felistus ME DEAF. NOW ME TEACH YOU ZSL. YOU LEARN WITH ME, YES?`This is important — the best way to learn ZSL is FROM Deaf people. I’m hearing, I’m learning too. But Felistus grew up using ZSL every day. She knows the culture, the slang, the REAL signs we use in Zim. Not textbook signs. Real community signs.From now on, you’ll see her face teaching words, stories, and Deaf culture.
