What an unforgettable adventure! 🌅

Our learners had the privilege of spending a few incredible days at Silver Mountain Game Lodge, Bela-Bela, where they stepped away from the classroom and into the beauty of God’s creation.

From exciting activities and new challenges to shared meals, laughter, teamwork, and unforgettable memories — this camp was about so much more than just adventure. It was about building independence, strengthening friendships, discovering new strengths, and growing together. 🌿✨

We are so proud of our learners for embracing every opportunity, supporting one another, and making the most of this special experience.

A huge thank you to our dedicated staff, the team at Silver Mountain Game Lodge, our transport team, and all the parents for making this camp possible. 💚

Wat ’n onvergeetlike avontuur! 🌅

Ons leerders het die voorreg gehad om ’n paar ongelooflike dae by Silver Mountain Game Lodge, Bela-Bela deur te bring, waar hulle die klaskamer verruil het vir die rustigheid en skoonheid van God se skepping.

Van opwindende aktiwiteite en nuwe uitdagings tot saam eet, lag, spanwerk en kosbare herinneringe — hierdie kamp was soveel meer as net ’n avontuur. Dit het gegaan oor die bou van onafhanklikheid, die versterking van vriendskappe, die ontdekking van nuwe vermoëns en om saam te groei. 🌿✨

Ons is ongelooflik trots op ons leerders wat elke uitdaging met entoesiasme aangepak het, mekaar ondersteun het en die geleentheid ten volle benut het.

What a fantastic weekend of achievements for our talented Baken girls! 🤸‍♀️✨

🥇 Kaylie competed at the Central Gauteng Competition in the Girls 7–8 Years category and achieved fantastic scores:

🏅 Trampoline – 9.05
🏅 Bars – 9.00
🏅 Beam – 8.70
🏅 Floor – 8.65

✨ Total: 35.4 – GOLD! 🥇

We are incredibly proud of Kaylie and the hard work she put into such a wonderful achievement. 💙🤍

🌟 Emma Venter also represented Baken beautifully at the Central Gauteng competition. We are so proud of her hard work, dedication and the confidence she showed throughout the competition. 🤍💙

🤸‍♀️ Jean-Mari took part in the Gauteng competition and achieved:

⭐ Overall – 4th place

Jean-Mari also received her Gauteng colours and will be competing at the South African Championships later in September! 🇿🇦🏆

🏗️ BTEC CONSTRUCTION | INDUSTRY VISIT

Our Construction students recently had the opportunity to visit KYB Academy in Potchefstroom, gaining valuable exposure to a professional technical training environment.

The visit gave our learners the chance to explore practical training facilities, learn more about technical programmes and qualifications, and gain first-hand insight into the career and further-study pathways available within the construction and technical industries.

At Baken Akademie, we believe that learning should extend beyond the classroom. Experiences such as these help our students connect the theory and practical skills developed through their Construction studies with the realities of the industry and the opportunities that await them after school.

A special thank you to KYB Academy for welcoming our students and sharing your knowledge and expertise with them, and to Mr Rudolph van Staden for accompanying and supporting our group.

🏃 BTEC SPORT IN ACTION | BTEC SPORT IN AKSIE

A little catch-up on what’s been happening at Baken Akademie over the past few weeks!

Our Pearson BTEC Sport students have been putting theory into practice! They assisted at Baken Primary School’s Mass Athletics Day, applying their sporting, leadership and organisational skills in a real event environment. 🏅

They also spent time with our little ones at Baken Preschool – Elephant Campus, where they practised their coaching and activity skills through fun, age-appropriate activities.

Practical learning, leadership and plenty of Baken spirit! 💪

AFRIKAANS 🇿🇦

’n Klein inhaalblik op wat die afgelope paar weke by Baken Akademie gebeur het!

Ons Pearson BTEC Sport-studente het teorie in praktyk toegepas! Hulle het tydens Baken Laerskool se Massa-atletiekdag gehelp en hul sport-, leierskap- en organiseringsvaardighede prakties toegepas. 🏅

Hulle het ook tyd saam met ons kleingoed by Baken Kleuterskool – Elephant Kampus deurgebring, waar hulle hul afrigtingsvaardighede met prettige, ouderdomsgepaste aktiwiteite kon oefen.

Praktiese leer, leierskap en sommer baie Baken-gees! 💪
