Breaking News... This just in... Grade Threes report live from the scene of a natural disaster!

To conclude our unit, How the World Works, our Grade Three students became fearless news reporters, delivering live broadcasts from the centre of natural disasters they had carefully researched.

From wildfires to tsunamis, they demonstrated the IB Learner Profile attributes of being Knowledgeable, Inquirers, and Communicators. With curiosity, confidence, and creativity, they brought their learning to life, capturing the urgency, impact, and human stories behind these powerful events.

A wonderful example of inquiry-based learning in action and the development of globally minded learners.

Today we honour the young people who changed the course of history and the young people who continue to shape it.
As a school, we believe in the power of youth to ask bold questions, challenge the ordinary and build something better.

Happy Youth Day.

Our Grade 4 learners explored the world of probability in a fun and interactive game show setting! From identifying mode and median to understanding what is likely, unlikely and certain, learners applied their Maths skills through exciting challenges and hands-on learning.

The classroom was filled with enthusiasm, teamwork and plenty of problem-solving as concepts came to life in a meaningful and engaging way.

The WESSA Team has a very exciting secret to share… This year, WESSA is celebrating 100 years!

To celebrate this incredible milestone, our Preparatory School is going BIG by collecting 100 items for the animals at the Johannesburg Zoo. We would love our Crawford community to help us make a difference by donating any of the following items:

• Seeds
• Dry grains
• Pet pellets/kibble
• Dried legumes
• Cinnamon sticks
• Cloves
• Dried herbs
• Garlic or ginger powder
• Honey or molasses
• Jam
• Unsalted yeast spread
• Unsalted peanuts

And now for the secret…
The class that collects the most items will win a Civvies Friday!

Please send all donations to your child’s class teacher so that collections can be recorded.

Every donation will help care for the zoo’s animals and support this meaningful WESSA celebration. Thank you for helping us give back and show that Crawford cares.
