Meet Sharon!

It will be hard for me to introduce Sharon without being bias. Sharon is my sister, and it's actually because of her this little business ever became a reality. She introduced me to my very first tutoring student in 2010!

Sharon is a grade 4 teacher and has experience teaching grades 1-4. She has a very specific role at our centre where she assists younger grades with core competencies, reinforcement of their current work and towards the end of the year preparing them for the transition from junior to senior phase.

Besides her 16 years worth of experience, Sharon brings humour to her sessions, and really helps the children feel comfortable. A very big strategy she incorporates is praise and acknowledgment and this helps the children build one of the most important characteristics needed for schooling- confidence.

Meet Alex!

How did I know that Alex was what I had been looking for? Alex pitched up to her first training session with a fully kitted 'tutoring goodie bag'. She brings a sense of calm and certainty to her sessions that the children LOVE.

If you have worked with me before, you will know that my main priority is making sure that the child feels comfortable, safe and excited to learn. And my main source of feedback comes directly from the children. When days had passed and children were still asking me when teacher Alex was coming again, I knew I had found who I was looking for.

Welcome to The Focus Group Team- TFGT. I am Charlene and I run TFGT. Find out more about me below.

We have hit the ground running and it feels so good! We are on day 3 of being back and have welcomed awesome new families to our own tutoring family.

We have also welcomed 2 new incredible tutors to our tutoring family and I am so excited to introduce them to you. I am so grateful to finally have found these 2 ladies who fit the bill perfectly.

I am so excited to be back for 2022. I can just feel a shift in the positivity and feel how great this year is going to be.
